Let me start by saying that one of my pet peeves with DFH is that he leaves his socks everywhere. Why they can''t seem to make it to the laundry I will never understand. Anyway,, over the years I''ve learned to pick my battles and while it annoys me to death this is just not one battle I am willing to fight.

Well, my addorable little kitty (hes actually almost 8) had decided to pick this battle with him. What does he do you ask? He finds the socks and chews them to threads.

I have been picking them up and putting them in the laundry and when FH goes to put them on they have huge holes in non obvious spots...So freaking funny.

The cat is another story on its own. I have no idea why but he tears all his toys apart. He''s worse than a dog. I got him dog toys for Christmas and they are destroyed. So I guess he has moved on to FH''s socks. Well I guess that solves that problem for me.

Now if I could only get him to do the laundry...

OMG so funny - what a clever kitty you have

ETA: just be careful kitty isn't swallowing long threads - those can be extremely dangerous as they can get wrapped around the intestinal tract and be potentially fatal for kitties and doggies.

no worries. He usually tears them apart pretty good. No long strands. That being said...once I did have to rush him to the kitty hospital because I was worried he swallowed gift wrap ribbon. He did swallow it but the material irritated his stomach so he didn''t need any help. Thanks for the lookout.

Ok...sorry for all the borring kitty stories today but he just caught a mouse. Seriously, I thought we had one visiting our kitchen for a few weeks and he just caught one. I'm still shaking. Do I have to call the vet?

Can I borrow your kitty? I have the same husband/sock problem.
I think if your cat is up to date on his shots you shouldn''t have to call the vet.

That cat is working for you girl...

LOL

He just got his updated shots a month ago. I know that there is one that he didn''t get cause he''s not around other cats...i think the feline lukemia one. However, I don''t think mice are carriers of that. Should I call to be sure? There was no blood, I think he picked it up to show me however it did die but I don''t know if that was a result of the cat or the fact that I caught it under my shoe.

LOL...isn''t the sock thing funny. My fiance is very happy now that he knows the cat caught a mouse. He said he''s worth having around if only to catch a potential mouse. Mice are kind of par for the course in an nyc apt and fortunatley we haven''t really had a problem. I wonder if it is because of the cat that they have stayed away.

Hehe...your cat sounds like a trip (in a good way). I''d call the vet just to make sure about the mouse but my guess is you''re fine. I''d also guess the cat is an excellent deterrent for mice, at least that''s always been my understanding

Thanks everyone! I called and since I just had him in for shots a month ago the vet said he is fine. BTW...this mouse was almost black. I don''t want to think about it but maybe it was a baby rat? Eww...gross. Anyway, they said he will be fine.

Did you guys know that my cat has no hair??? He is a trip. Very funny to watch cause he doesn''t have wiskers so he has no balance. Honestly I''m truly amazed that he caught a mouse and most of all that I was home to see it.

Love that your cat is helping you out! And I wouldn''t worry about the mouse.

Too funny. I got goose bumps thinking about the mouse, though! I hate them. Thank goodness for your cat!

I wish that my cat would do that

I just walked around our bedroom, and I found 15 of my boyfriend''s socks randomly strewn around.

She does have a penchant, however, for destroying his leather shoes

That does not make him a happy camper

This is a new thing that just started in the past month. We''ve lived together for almost 2 years. I don''t know why but it is so funny.

That''s too good! I wish our cat would teach DH a lesson or two.

Your kitty''s givin'' you backup

Nah, dark brown is a pretty common colour for field mice.

Awww, your cat is hilarious! (However, I could never let him in my house because I leave clothes and such all over the floor

Can we see some photos of this kitty?

Of course. Here is an old picture. I haven''t taken any new ones in a while.

What a character! I can actually see him chewing on the socks. To funny! He''s adorable [the cat, I mean]!

He''s very sneaky. FH was trying to be mad but I couldn''t stop laughing. The cat just sort of sulked away when he put the socks on.

So cute! I love how regal he looks, like a pet of the pharaohs!

I totally want a hairless cat now. Do you know if they are good for allergy sufferers?

I have terrible allergies to most animals and I''m not allergic at all to him. I''m allergic to most dogs and cats so it was a huge suprise for me. I think I mentioned that he is almost 8 and when I got him from the breeder 8 years ago I went over to her house and hung out with all the cats for a few hours and nothing. My mom can sometimes be bothered by him but we are not totally sure if its the cat or the NYC dust. She isn''t here that much and she doesn''t have a problem petting him only when she sleeps. So...I think he''s good for people with allergies...me, but I''m not totally sure. You can come to nyc and hang out if you want. He''s very friendly. His name is Tini (tee knee).

THey should play. We sometimes think this cat is a dog. He can''t jump real high and he tears apart these dog toys. Its so strange.

That cat is cool. I wish my dogs would do that!
