Third Time is a Charm, Right?

After losing two houses in bidding wars (as documented right here on PS , October2008bride and her Mr. BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

AHHHHHHHH!!!!

I can''t believe it! We saw it online when we were up at my parents'' cottage and thought we''d really like it - came home on Sunday for an open house and bought it yesterday!! We got it for less than they listed it as they had already bought and were motivated

It has to pass a termite inspection (typical for downtown houses here) and if we are happy with that, we will be home-owners!

It is a 100 year old victorian rowhouse with a LONG lot (161 feet)and I think it is perfect. I feel a bit like goldilocks - the first one was too small and had no character, the second one was too big, and this one was just right!!

The home is narrow, but long. There is a family room and a living room on the first floor so that is a big bonus as a lot of homes in my city only have a living room and people put the family room/tv room in the basement.

Here is the dining room - love the original stained glass french doors. We originally thought about taking down the wall between the dining room and the hallway to make it wider, but then we''d lose the doors so I don''t think we''d do it.

Here is the family room. It is between the dining room and the kitchen.

And here is the kitchen!! We love it! It has 4 times the cupboard space we have now and a gas stove and a bosch dishwasher and FRENCH DOORS onto the back deck

Here is the master bedroom - as is typical in these Victorians, closet space is an issue, but the room is big so we have options.

Here is the bathroom - it is probably the only place we''d want to do work eventually but it is big and has the option of becoming bigger should we want to renovate.

Wow...I absolutely love your home! It is decorated so beautifully too. I wouldn't change a thing! The long layout is different and adds a lot of character to the home imo.

Thank you everyone so much - I feel kind of sick and excited but mostly sick all at the same time so it is nice to hear everyone else''s pure excitement.

Janine - the house is downtown Toronto.

Inspection is on Thursday so I will keep everyone posted!

Now we just have to think about furniture purchase and placement! haha

W! It is so pretty, and light and bright! It almost doesn't look real!!!!! The high ceilings and the huge window in the living room and the crown molding and the woodwork around the window!! The doors from the dining room into the kitchen are AMAZING!!

Thank you so much!! The backyard deck/garden totally sold us too - so many places that we saw had tiny tiny backyards and this is big enough that we could put in a garage if we wanted to!!

Thanks Niccia - they staged it for the sale but also it smelled like it was freshly painted so that is good - one less thing to do!! I might want to change the master bedroom colour but we''ll see.
