So I am thinking of getting a diamond pendant made. I would love to use an asscher. DH wanted my ering to be an asscher, but with our budget I would not have been happy with it since they tend to look smaller than their carat weight and you have to stay really close to colorless. Clarity has to be near perect too. I would have ended up with a .20 and I would have not been happy with that. Not trying to sound like a snot, but I know me.

Do you think that an asscher in a pendant would be under appreciated. I am thinking that it may be hard to really appreciate the step cut of an asscher on a pendant. What size carat would be good for a pendant? I am thinking I would be able to go smaller than with an ering? Or should I get a RB for the sparkle?

I think a small asscher would not be appreciated in a pendant. I really enjoy looked at my asscher straight on but that isn''t they way anyone views a pendant. For a pendant I''d go with one of the more sparkly cuts. But that''s just me.

Now a 1 or 2 carat asscher pendant...yum!

I have to agree with swingirl, I nice large asscher in a pendant would look amazing, but if the budget only allows a smaller stone I think picking somthing a bit more sparkly would stand out alot more.

That is what I was afraid of. I am going to have to find some way to incorporate asschers in somehow. I guess that will be another project.

So I guess that means a RB. What is a good size? I want it to be pretty, not overbearing, maybe .5 bezel? What do you think?

I disagree. I think step cuts are under appreciated in general. My EC throws off LOTS of sparkle. I think an asscher would be beautiful in a pendant. I have seen an EC pendant before and thought it looked classy and elegant.
