thin settings - 14K white gold or platinum?

was wondering if any of you folks here have had your engagement/wedding ring that are super thin (1.5 - 2 mm) for a super long time? which metal did you get - 14K white gold or platinum? if you got the 14K white gold, have you lost any diamonds?

with super thin settings, do you any of you feel uncomfortable (i.e. concern w/ loosing stones) wearing the rings w/ 14K white gold instead of platinum?

I have a 1.5 mm plat ring I have been wearing for 10 years. No problems. No diamonds (pave) in it though.

My three stone ring has a 2mm shank in 18kt. white gold with tiny pave diamonds on three sides. I have only had it for four years, but even with daily wear and weekly ultrasonic cleanings I have never lost a stone or had any problems with the setting.
