Thin band picture?

Hello,

I am having a jeweller make a thin setting for me that has small (but not micro pave) diamonds embedded in the band. Does anyone know what this is called? Also does anyone have pictures of some pretty examples that I can send to my jeweller? Thank you for your help!

Actually i''m not really sure. I''ve seen it in person, love the setting but don''t know what it is called and how to describe it to the jeweler. The band is very thin - i don''t know, maybe like 1 mm?? it has little diamonds in one row all throughout it but they aren''t micropave. Does this ring a bell?

My band is thin and has diamonds all the way around. They''re prong set, not pave. Is that what you''re thinking of? My band is probably 2.2 mm or so. I don''t know if you could make a diamond band that was only 1 mm in width.

1mm is crazy thin, it was probably about 2mm. It could be prong set, bead set, gypsy style, etc. Can you find a picture online of something similar and show it to us? Where did you originally see it?

Yeah then it probably was around 2mm...it was just a nice thin band. The diamonds were all next to each other and there was no metal surrounding the diamonds on either side.

You mean like this? It''s less than 2mm (to compare, my husband''s ring is 6mm).
It was a custom job by Mark at ERD...who''s a DREAM, by the way.

I''m almost positive you''re referring ot a shared prong band, like katiedid''s. However, most places won''t make one thinner than 1.8 to 2 mm wide. Less than that is definitely asking for trouble in terms of stability.
