Love this!
Thank you! I think I will just return the TRR ring and make the ring that has been living in my dreams for years now. I just need to find that center stone!
Love this!
I’d been watching this for a while, it dropped another 10 perct and I caught a $500 off per motion so I thought I’d give this a try. I think the estimated 2.59 ct weight for the 5 stones is probably accurate. I can’t get my calipers on them, I think they’re high 4.7-5mm. Some with very puffy crowns. Including tax It works out to about $600 per stone and the 1ct of tiny diamonds and pearl free bonus. Not dreamer d pricing but not terrible.
I’m undecided because I bought 2 things on TRR and should only keep 1 (or zero - Hah).
While i’’m deciding I thought I should share with you ….

OMG those crowns! It looks to me like some of the smaller stones are also OEC. Yes?
Okay but what's the other thing???
The diamonds are real cuties, but I'm not sold on the pearl...Would you wear it as-is or repurpose?
@vitona526 I loooooooove the emerald ring! I’m of the opinion that since emeralds are so soft and I’m so clumsy, I really shouldn’t be spending the $$$ on super nice ones. But maybe that’s just me!
Repurpose as a 5 stone. And I’m saving up small old cut diamonds for a cobblestone project *i think*. Definitely scraping the pearl.
The other is an emerald ring that probably isn’t pricescope quality but it’s so glowy I can’t stop starting at it. And I’d want to fill in the side stones with gold (not sure if that’s even possible) or replace with old cuts. I’ll post some pics but it’s kind of like the boyfriend youre embarassed to introduce to your friends but you really like him. lol.

You got it literally the day I was planning to finally pull the trigger and buy it! I was obsessing over these stones for so long, part of me was sad, and part was relieved.
I think it's super fun and yes, very glowy! If you can't stop staring, that's maybe an answer.... Do you have a bench you can talk to about the changes? Any chance the small old cuts can fit into the emerald ring so you keep both?![]()
Good advice! That CTW for a possible five stone is a great size! I would probably crunch the numbers because of course you’ll have to pay for a setting, and then start looking around for already made five stones in that range to see if it’s worth keeping.
I love the emerald also. It’s really pretty.
@vitona526 Have you given those side stones a good cleaning? I don't think changing them out for OECs will make a big difference. They might be filthy and that's what's bothering you about it.
Good advice!
I’d guess it’s a little over 2cttw at those measurements. Most ive seen that size are 8k+. Jocelyn had one recently I posted above for about 7k that was very high carat weight but those are so rare! I’ve seen so few in that carat and many are 10k+
My setting in 18k and plat was about 2400. I’m sure there are less expensive designs but it’s a lot of prongs to set!
Based on what @vitona526 said she paid per stone I think it’s a deal to set them! Not a dreamer d deal mind youBut still good value!
I hoped to spend about $2000 for a 14k setting. Might be a touch low.
I think that’s a reasonable budget if you do a single metal and 14k. Two tone costs more bc of the added labour obvs.
That price seems in line with DK imho. I have done two settings with him that were just metal, no stones, and they were well under 2k. In fact, they were more like 1k. But that was a few years ago, so prices have gone up I suppose (esp gold price egad).
My recent five stone setting was made by DK and it was $2400 in two tone 18k/plat. I think it may have been partly bc it required a certain bench to execute, gold prices, and it is more costly to set more stones. The quote came before be knew I was such a PITA tooSo it does depend on the design somewhat I assume.
@Mreader I have considered this. I could probably find a less expensive Instagram deal but the pressure there is so high. I could take my time and do this the way I wanted.
Aaack! I would have felt exactly the same if you’d bought them. I might be in less of a decision pickle tho. Ha. I will give you a heads up if I return!
Wow! Can we see more pictures?
I started a thread about it in Colored Stones:
I bought this chrysoberyl ring from TRR, alerted by the SGBTP thread. It's 2.23 ct, nicely cut, no window, a very pretty minty green. It glows bright red under my 395nm uv flashlight. In incandescent light, all the color drains out, leaving it silvery.
Do you think it's a vanadium chrysoberyl?
