“This blind cat and his best friend have been at the shelter for months, waiting for that perfect home where they can be adopted together. Ray is a lot more confident with Bea around, and they'd like to stay friends. That's why they need Facebook magic to get the word out - we know the right home is out there somewhere! Animal ID#'s 536089 and 536090”

Aren’t they adorable???
My husband won’t let me have anymore kittehs right now:blackeye:. But, just in case someone is local or in love...

Front Street Animal Shelter of Sacramento is an amazing place. They do everything they can to remain no kill, to include having $5 and free adoption events when the shelter is full. They take the sweetest photos of the animals with props, pearls, hats, clown collars, and bow ties, to make them look completely adorable. I think this helps people to fall in love with the pets before they get to the shelter. They work very hard to find their animals homes.

Oh, that's so sweet! Makes me want to run right over and adopt them.

Thank you for sharing this story, House Cat. Someone will find out about this pair and give them a loving home. Together.

What a wonderful Shelter for recognizing that these two buddies need to stay with each other. Obviously, the staff are people who are the right fit for their work.

I hope there will soon be an update with a very happy ending to this story.

:wavey:

We have a pair like that at our shelter and they just got adopted together! DH and I are both allergic, but this pretty kitty showed up at my house with a broken leg, and cats don't survive where I live because of predators, so I called my friend who has a rescue and I donated $200 and they came and got the cat.

Do you mind if I share a pic? I never get to share pics of cats =)

She had her leg amputated and is doing very well.

Oh! She is so pretty! Thank you for taking care of her!

@whitewave , Bless you! I'm so glad that sweet cat crossed paths with you! You have a loving heart!

Its unfortunate she had to lose her leg, but I'm glad she's doing great! Animals (and people) can adapt quite well after losing a limb. I saw a man out jogging with his dog one day, and it took me a few seconds before I realized the dog was missing one leg. He was moving at a fast, smooth pace!

........

Oh, just saw your photo of Lucky and Bumpkin! So cute! Crossing my fingers for them as well to get a wonderful, loving home!

She was skittish but friendly and wanted to trust. My friend walked up to her and picked her right up by the scruff of her neck and said, "It'a ok, baby, I'm
Momma cat." =) And that was that. They would have came and got her without the donation, but I wanted to put it toward the surgery. I also just donated $200 for them to pull a sweet pit mix from a kill shelter (next in line to be euthanized)....gotta tell people to stop tagging me!!! I told them I would do another $200 this month for them both. The sweet pit has heavy heart worms...

As you can see in the pic, she was already using the good leg to accommodate the bad one, so I think she will adjust quickly. She is about a year old and is feline aids negative, and apparently is a favorite at the vet's office already-- very sweet.

I'm glad his happened last week because it is snowing here today

@whitewave , great news about Lucky and Bumpkin!

I was reading your post about the pit bull and ready to hit 'Like" until I read he has heavy heart worms. I love the rest of your post, but am sorry to hear about this health issue. Not a vet, but hope this poor dog can recover from this.

This rescue will try. They don't give up... I had my heavy HW bulldog for 14 months before he passed at age 8...
Love of my life  he was the best.

They are precious and I hope they find a loving home where they can remain together. Thanks for posting this Housecat and my fingers are crossed for these sweet kitties. I'm with you...I wish we could save and adopt them all.

Like missy said wish we could give every single animal in this world a place to feel safe and loved.
