The search for a 1.5 Round Diamond

Dear all,

This community helped me awhile back in my search for an engagement ring. I'm hoping you guys/girls will be able to do so again.

I'm searching for a diamond to upgrade an existing round EVS1 1.10 H&A. My wife had received lots of compliments on the sparkle and fire on it.

Now I want to go bigger. I'm budgeting $15000 for 1.5-2.0 loose diamond. What would be the perfect parameters to search for in terms of color, clarity, etc... to get the best bang for my buck without worrying that the old diamond would make the new one unappealing?

Hi! Congratulations on taking a step towards an upgrade! It's exciting to be able to do that! For your budget, I would suggest that you can definitely get anywhere between 1.50-1.70 carat, D-F color, VS2-SI1 clarity, EX EX EX, no fluorescence diamond that will look stunning!

Are you restricted to a particular vendor who you need to upgrade with? Are you keeping the first stone or starting from scratch?
