Home The Official TTC Thread!

Aw, big hug Robbie - I''m sorry. I would have flipped too! I think men do like the digis. There is something about the words being there in black and white that feels real to them - or at least it did for DH.

I bought him a copy of "The Blokes Guide to Pregnancy", which he has been reading avidly.

We''ve told my parents and all our close friends already. It''s quite sweet, one of my very good friends who''s male, 54, single and very uninto babies (or so I thought), rang me up this morning to see if I have an EDD yet - and is thrilled that it''s due on his birthday. DH and I picked the name John as the second name if it''s a boy - so Edward John - in honour of this friend as he''s been such a huge influence in our lives - I might tell him when I see him tonight, I think he''ll be quite pleased!

There is NO WAY ON EARTH that I couldn''t have told my parents. I cannot keep my own secrets at all! My father is thrilled, and acually called me the next day to ask if he could tell all his colleagues and friends. I said he could tell anyone he liked except family!

On the boobs side, I always wear those bras (T-shirt bras?) that pretty much stand up on their own, and although I haven''t had to buy bigger ones, I have noticed that they fit much more than they normally do. I think having those kind of bras may also reduce ''sore boob syndrome'' as you don''t bash them by mistake when you''re carrying things or moving your arms (if that makes sense).

Fisher your LP can''t be over 18 days unless you are preggo. I suspect your LP is longer since you O''d on CD-26 and your cycles have been around 40 days. If you are eager, you can start testing whenever you want, but if you want to be safe, then try to wait until about 12DPO at least, 14DPO is better for accuracy.

EBree Good luck catching that egg! I have a good feeling here...

Robbie My hubby and I had the same argument. Not about not believing but about when to tell who etc etc.

Just a suggestion I totally understand not wanting to jump into the preggo thread, I felt the same way when I was very newly preggo, but at the same time I think that too much preggo talk here is really distressing to some (not all) TTCers, so I started a thread called "The Barely Preggo Thread" when Erika, me, and Indy first got knocked up. We used it for a couple weeks. So if they want, the newbies could convene there to chat about newbie stuff... or not, just thought I''d thow it out there b/c there are sooooo many newbies this month and preggo talk seems to be dominating this board and I worry about how some of our sisters may be feeling ("bitter sweet" perhaps?).

Robbie- I''m sorry that you and your DH are fighting over this! I would wait though to tell anyone IRL until you know 100% sure you are pregnant. Remember, I had two EPT''s that looked positive but were negative (the pictures are posted a few pages back). When its AF due? Your HCG doubles every 48 hours (or is it 24?) so you should have enouch HCG by now to have a more definitive test. Can you call your OB and ask for a beta test? Then you are just out your co-pay fee and you would know 100% if you are preggo or not. I hope you are though!!

This is right but is the FRER caught abuot 12 units it could be 4-6 days before less senstive tests (which detect 50+ units) will be accurate. She is preggo, 2 FRERs aren''t wrong.

Good morning ladies!

Fisher - I''ve got my fingers crossed for you my dear! I am also really hoping this is "our month," but only time will tell! It must be a relief just to know you ovulated even if you aren''t preggers. Baby steps right?
5.gif

Robbe - sorry to hear DH is being such a Debbie Downer! But seriously, men can be a little clueless about all this - I know my DH is. He really doesn''t want to know all the science around everything. He just wants to have fun and see what happens and when I try to explain things to him, I still have this feeling he''s not getting it. Just remember that you''ve read TCOYF and are an active member of this thread gaining knowledge each and everyday so, you''re on a totally different level than he is with all this stuff. I have a feeling if he was on this thread and reading the facts like you do, then he''d know you were pregnant. Hearing it come just from you should be enough, but obviously isn''t. Be patient with him since it seems as if he''s just playing it safe due to lack of knowledge.
2.gif

BTW - were you using those instead soft cups you had mentioned a while back during this cycle? Just curious...

So, I believe I''m 2DPO, but FF hasn''t confirmed my ovulation yet. My monitor went back to low this morning so, I had two peak days on Monday and Tues and then yesterday it was just high. However, when I used an OPK yesterday it looked positive so, I''m confused.
33.gif
We tried BDing Mon. night before my business trip, but poor DH was exhausted after a huge work event he had that night. Luckily, we managed to get a session in that morning, but if did in fact O on Tues., I was out of town. We did BD again late last night, but propbably too late. So, now we wait....

DD, thanks for the suggestion. I actually searched for the thread and couldn''t find it earlier. I just searched again now that I know the name and it''s locked. Perhaps I''ll start a new one.

Feb, I got a bfp on a $tree today. It was really light, but it was there. I''m sure I''m pregnant. All results have shown up within the correct time frame. I''m thinking I only today hit a level of 25 (hence the super faint positive on the $tree) so it could still be 2-3 days before I see a bfp on a digi. I think I read that HCG doubling time can actually take up to 72 hours. My average LP is 11 days and has ranged from 10-12 days in the past (only been 12 twice in the almost year I''ve been charting) and today is 14dpo, so there''s no doubt in my mind that I''m preggo.

Blushing, DH takes after his dad. They both doubt EVERYTHING. I don''t think it''s that he doesn''t believe me, it''s more like he just thinks I''m wrong (even though he swears he believes now). When we told FIL that we were engaged his response was "No you''re not!" LOL. It took him a few minutes to believe even after we showed him the ring. MIL thinks it''s linked to their name. They''re both Thomas (doubting Thomas, anyone? LOL).

LOL...ooops...I guess I should've called him a Doubting Thomas instead of a Debbie Downer...hehe...I'm sure you knew what I meant.
41.gif
You didn't answer my question of about the instead soft cups...did you use them this cycle??

Woops, sorry, I missed that. We used them 3 out of the 7 days of the BD marathon. The closest time was 4 days before O though since I''m pretty sure I O''d on the later date now. I have no idea if they helped at all, but they definitely made it less messy.

Robbie,

I''m sorry to hear your DH is being diffcult, but I bet a lot of it is shock. The good kind.

Are your FRERs getting darker?

Ebree, I''ve only taken 2 FRERs. When I took the second one it seemed fainter, but now that they''re both dry, it definitely looks darker.

OMG Robbie! Congratulations! You have such a huge presence here on pricescope so I''ve been crossing my fingers for you!

Thanks, oobie!

Hi guys!

Barely preggo. :P That''s funny. I can see what you''re saying about it being somewhat bittersweet for some, but it''s also kind of sad to have good "friends" go off and leave you, too. Like if DD was gone, where would we be?
9.gif

A friend of mine at work (who has a heart shaped uterus and has been trying for about 2 years or so) just got a positive this morning. She''s very leary about it, but you can see the joy exuding from her. So exciting! Here''s hoping the workplace has two preggos at once!!! Talk about your DRAMA!!!

Another friend at work is wanting to TTC, but isn''t really sure about the whole "charting" thing (I was this way, too, but the long cycles made me *nuts*). I was telling her about what I know about it today and you know what? I''ve learned a lot!

***
Robbie, congrats. I''m looking forward to your ride toward a positive digital read-out. I know Paul will be in shock and awe and will have to have time to have it sink in when we experience two lines on a stick, too. I hope your DH has that "sink in" moment soon.

I had another 98 range temp today. Happy, happy. As for the dip that shows AF is on the way, is it usually a slow decline, or a rapid drop? Or does it depend? (Yeah, this is me looking for what I should be worried about next.)

Hi everyone...the cramps are on and off, but now i''m gassy...i don''t think i''m a jerkstore this month. i just know that evil AFF is on her way. i was excited to test earlier in the week, but now that i''m 10dpo today and prob can this weekend...i don''t want to...i think i''m going to wait and see if she shows up...if not then i''ll test monday. i have a $ tree test and its too early for that 1. i could go out and buy a test
27.gif
, but i''m a little nervous to be dissappointed like last month.

Aww, NYCSparkle,

I know how you feel. I''m living it, too. Tomorrow will be 10DPO for me, and it''s almost like I''m afraid to test (although I know 10 DPO is too early) any time soon for fear of having to let go of the dream of being preggo, possibly. Yeah, nutty. But true.

Lucky for me, I only have three or four tests available to me, so I have to ration them out. I want to wait to test until I know it will be worth something!

Good luck to you girl. I''ve heard that gas can be a sign of being preggo, too. (I mean really, can''t anything be a sign???)

It varies I think. I only charted one month that I got AFF and I had one temp that was lower than the rest, then the next day I woke up and the temp was below the cover line and sure enough, there she was! I cried b/c my LP was only 8 days that month but I guess it didn''t matter! LOL! I think for most women it arrives the day of the drop below cover-line, or the day after.

After so many LP temps Fisher you now know that your post-O temps are in that mid 98 range, so you won''t get fooled again next month! You''ll know to keep on DTD until your temp hits that level.

this morning ii woke up and ...tmi...there was blood only when i wiped...i''m 11dpo...it''s too early for aff...she''s not due to arrive until monday possibly tuesday. i have cramps like aff has arrived. my lmp was aug. 26th..i have 27-28 day cycles.

It could be implantation bleeding. You mentioned having 27-28 day cycles usually, but what''s your average LP? Remember, if you O''d earlier than you normally do, AFF will show up earlier than normal as well. I''ll keep my fingers crossed that it''s implantation bleeding though
1.gif

Aww, NYCSparkle. I hope the bleeding/spotting goes away quickly and that it''s not AF. How are you feeling?

****
Robbie, good grief, if you keep "growing" you''ll be in a triple Z in no time!

Today''s temp was same as yesterday''s: 98.34. Today I''m feeling pretty tired and I woke up with an awful taste in my mouth. I brushed three times and used mouthwash and it''s still there. It''s not the metalic taste I''ve heard some preggos get, more like something like... oh, I can''t describe it, but it''s a weird taste. I also had odd lower back pains last night, never had those before like that. It was dull and not sharp, and only lasted like 10 minutes. I think I''m in hyper mode now, trying to decipher everything I feel or think I feel. I also thought I had cramping last night, but it was just gas or bloat or something.

Today is 10 DPO. I''m so excited to be the double digits. Last night I counted out my pee sticks. I have three from online (I had a pack of 20... wonder where they all went???) and one clear blue easy. I thought I had First Response Early Results, but I don''t. Hmph! Now I''m nervous to test with the online kind because so many had a hard time with them this past month, and I''m scared to use the clear blue because I''ve read all the stuff about blue dye being "evil." I almost bought a three pack of FRER yesterday at lunch hour, but I didn''t for fear that I''d lose control and pee on all of them too soon.

Ebree,

How''s that egg catch going?

Good luck to everyone; I hope you have a wonderful FRIDAY!!!

Blushing Bride and Fisher, I''ve got my fingers crossed that this is the cycle for you!

NYCsparkle, let''s hope it''s just implantation bleeding, but Robbie is right about needing to know the length of your luteral phase, and not just how long your lmc was.

I think I need to get a new thermometer. I''ve been using one that I thought was trustworthy, but I just got my third 97.5 temp in a row during my period. Somehow I doubt I''m that consistent, so I think it''s just not sensitive enough. What stinks is that I''m leaving straight from work to go visit dh today, so I won''t really have time to stop and get a new one until Sunday =(

Anyone else just at the beginning of their cycle this month?

Sabine, you need a thermometer that measures to 2 decimal points not just one.

Hi friends!!
Pandora when I read your posts, I always read them with a British accent. hilar! ;p
Sabine - My thermometer was only to one decimal place and it worked just fine for me
31.gif
. If you are concerned about it''s sensitivity, then that''s a differnt story. Def try to pick up another one. I think Sunday is okay, since the first few days of AFF are not that important anyways, and you can just start Monday with your new Thermometer!
9.gif

Robbie - Sorry about the fight with DH
7.gif
I remeber mine was a bit of a Doubting Thomas in words (ie. he''d say things like, "...well if you''re pregnant this month) but the funny thing is that he always treated me as if I was (i.e. careful about food choices and not pouring me a second glass of wine etc.)
37.gif

Fisher - man oh man have I''ve been in your crazy seat! HANG TOUGH girl! 10DPO is too early. That didn''t stop me, but I seriously recommend using your 4 HPT ration as a guide and sticking to it. You''ll be so proud of yourself! BTW, I got both of my BFP''s using clearblue easy (when dollar store sticks gave me BFNs) so don''t be so quick to judgy-judge them
2.gif

NYC - crappy mcCrappster! What is this bloodshow on 11dpo? If it''s AFF, then I say HOW DARE SHE? If it''s the ol'' implants, then I say "yee haw!" "yippee skippee!". Keep us posted.
Ebree - really hoping you catch not only the egg, but the magic egg. I think about you all the time and how farking scary this must be. I really admire you.
BB - I''m rooting for you girl! Really hoping you get your BPF soon
16.gif
You are the founder of this little club, and in my eyes, kinda like royalty. lol.

oobie, feb, china, am, drk (gosh I know I''m missing people - sorry!) Baby dust across the board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies-

Quick check-in from me. Sorry I''ve been so MIA, I have been sick since Saturday (1dpo) and am just finally starting to feel better today. I''m pretty sure I''m out this cycle, can''t see how I could have been making a baby when I couldn''t keep any food in.
14.gif

Off the top of my head-

Blushing- Hope you caught the egg. Was the OPK positive after you saw the egg on your monitor or nearly positive? In any case, sounds like you got enough bding in to cover your bases pretty well.

EBree- Good luck with this cycle!

Fisher- Yay for confirmed ovulation...I''m so excited for you! I also have to say that I''m proud of you holding out to test this long!

NYC- Fingers crossed for you, sounds like it could be implantation bleeding but like others have said it''s helpful to know the length of your luteal phase.

Amber- Hope all is well with you!

LL- I''ve been thinking of you and hope you are hanging in there.

Lulu- Can''t remember, has your spotting been held at bay?

I''m sure I''m forgetting people, my apologies!

As for me, I''m 7dpo. I''m going to wait till 12 dpo (when/if AF is late) to test. Happy Friday everyone!

Thanks for the good luck, ladies! I just got my first PEAK today, CD 14, which means I'll likely ovulate tomorrow, CD 15! Yay! I told DH I'd get my peak today too, because I was feeling all achy and swollen last night, and a few days ago, I felt pain on my right side. Like little bolts of lightening.

It's the closest I've ovulated to the "norm" since I went off birth control. In the past, it's been CDs 12, 16, and 17 (Clomid cycle, ironically enough).

*dances*

Fisher- Good luck to you! I'd definitely pick up a pack of FRERs if I were you. I don't trust any other kind (other than digis), but I've experienced the dreaded evap.

NY- Fingers crossed it's IB and not AF!

am- Feel better soon! I hope you were able to get a little BDing in. *hugs*

mela- To be honest, I'm terrified. If it happens to me again, I'll likely go to an RE to get some real answers, but I'm hoping I won't have to. How are you feeling?

sabine- When you go to the grocery store, you're going to want to look for a basal body thermometer.

Who have I missed? Hugs and support to everyone else, wherever you may be in your cycle!

Yay ebree!!! I hope you get some good BDing in!

hi ladies i am posting my question on this thread as well as the preggers thread ..just wondering if anyone has any info...i did my beta pg blood on monday and it was 435 ..i took the hpt that morning and they were dark positive....i have my second blood test this coming mon and i just did the hpt again and it is fainter than mondays...can it be bc i did it in the evening vs morning or smthg else??? i worry bc i dont have any symptoms of being pg other than tightness in the stomach..which i dont know is normal or not...urgh im such a hypocondriac (however you spell it lol) i always worry ..the wait is a killer!

Not at all! Different tests have different amounts of dye, not to mention your results will depend upon how diluted your urine is. If you took one test with FMU and another test the next day after drinking two big glasses of water, of course they''ll look different! I know it''s hard, but try your best not to worry.

Big hugs, girl!
