LiW The LIW Small Talk Thread

Good morning!

Elle -- I have dry skin too. Eucerine (sp?) works great for my hands and body. It is okay to use occasionally on my face, but it causes bad breakouts if I''m not careful.
If you find anything that works & can be used daily, let me know. I''ve got these awful flakes on my cheeks, forehead, and even eyelids now.

I''m glad you came to ST!

Me three! I hope I get to meet you soon, otherwise I might have to make the trek to DC. I have a BFF who''s knocked up too and I want to see her. I still haven''t met her bambina numero uno.

Are you talking body or face, Elle? I have sensitive skin, so I can''t use much or it freaks out. Aveeno and Cetaphil are good for the bod. My face is also oily, so it just sucks. We''re in a fight right now.
Face. Definitely face.

I have dry sensitive skin. Its awful. I wish I had oily skin -it''d be so much easier to deal with!!!

Ok, do any of you in ST have *really* dry skin and have a moisturizer that they love?

No matter how much water I drink, or moisturizer I use, I still have a bit of flaking. Its driving me crazy!

For body lotion I use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing. It''s really mild and pretty darn scentless. Very thick and rich though. For face I''ve started using the aloe day and night cream from the body shop. It''s very mild, not greasy and again, has very little scent. My skin is super duper dry in the winter so I tend to use the night cream for the day since it''s heavier and then I''ll top off with the day if I need a little more before putting on makeup, etc.
Yeah I think I need a night cream. I wonder if Clinique has a good one. I use the dramatically different lotion which really is good, but I need something even stronger for night. I don''t have a night lotion right now.
I got a sample of their youth surge right before Christmas...it''s pretty good - but I''ve been using it around my crows feet. I use an indian lotion that FI gets for me. I cant take anything with too many chemicals because I have very sensitive skin and it gets RED RED RED.

I''m sure they do, it''s Clinique for christ''s sake! I can''t use C lotion, it makes my eyelids burn

Nivea makes a great hand cream, it''s the Smooth Indulgence Hand Cream. Makes your hands silky smooth and smells awesome! In a bind I''d slapped some on my forehead and it''s worked without clogging and making me break out.

lol

Elle, Cetaphil works great too. Sometimes I use that on my face when it is unusually dry - I have combo skin.

I was curious about the Youth Surge stuff! It looked good to try. I''m just scared to try anything on my eyelids because I get eczema on them. It''s mild right now, but the wrong lotion and it''ll get much worse!

I have a 75 dollar GC to the mall, and there is a Sephora...

OMG, HH, you have like THE cutest embryo I''ve ever seen!I can''t believe how squishy and adorable it is . . .

Cetaphil has a cream too, which is heavier than the lotion. It''s the gentlest (word?) stuff there is, so it shouldn''t give you trouble.

Clinique Moisture On-Line looks right up my alley too...

Intense moisturizer immediately rehydrates and comforts drier, more delicate skin. Helps improve elasticity for a firmer look and feel.

I''m going to buy like 8 products and use each for a week and then report back.

There goes our budget.

I can see the argument now.

"40 dollar face lotion?"

"You don''t understand! Not all of us can wake up naturally gorgeous!"

"you ARE naturally gorgeous"

"You only say that because you''re my husband"...

...on and on and on

Aw, that''s sweet. It''s better than, "Yeah, you really need to do something about that skin of yours!"

How could it not be cute? Have you looked at your pictures? I was shocked and thought you had to be joking about your age. (I guessed 22 - 24) Your kid is going to be beautiful.

Awww thanks TP, you're very sweet! And yes, I'm going to be 30 in April.

For the record, I believe most infants look like either 1. a monkey or 2. Winston Churchil when very little. Sadly from seeing my nieces, mine will resemble an elderly British man who wears tweed jackets and smokes cigars.

I want to order Tino''s deli (I''m practically sitting on the famous Arthur Avenue) but I''ll want something unhealthy. Even there greek salad is unhealthy.

SYSTEM BREAKDOWN! Gah I hate when I actually have to work!

I''ll throw in my late two cents on face stuff. I had perfect skin until Mini and after I had her I''ve struggled BIG TIME. I''ve used everything, nutrogena, proactive, aveeno you name it. Well two weeks ago my estetician introduced me to Jan Marini products. Swear on Mini''s life my face is 1,000 times better! It''s just a cleanser and a moisturizer and the moisturizer smells like a tropical vacation. It''s spendy but apparently it should last me about 4-5 months.

My kids are going to have HUGE heads. Good thing I have ample hips.
