So Chris from ERD sent me the same option Gypsy suggested. The aset and everything looks good overall (lots of red means good right?) however the depth was more than the range specified in Charmypoo's cushion 101 post and I noticed the measurements are not comparable to what I'd expect - 6.8 mm. I want the face up to look similar to a 1.2 round. I believe Charmypoo's 1.5 8 main is 6.8mm. I told Chris I'd go lower in colour and clarity if needed.

Did I make an accurate assessment? He's sending more options tomorrow if he can. I'll post here when he does.

You know that a 6.8 diameter round is not comparable to a 6.8 sided cushion, right?

No I didn't...I'm new to this world. Are you saying id have to get a bigger cushion to face up similar to a 6.8 mm round? Or that a 6.5/6.6 cushion actually does face up similar to a 6.8 round due to the pillow shape? I'm clearly a newbie so sorry if this is an odd question!

Charmys guide states: "Depth: 63% to 67% - Anything lower is what I call a "pancake" cushion and anything higher will face up smaller than required" and this diamonds depth is 69.8.

Now I think i may have given Chris bad feedback. The stone he showed me is similar to the X factor one in this post and others seem to suggest to go for it.

Charmy's guide is a great reference.

But you buy cushions by performance, not by numbers. So... I'd throw out the numbers.

A 6.8 cushion will look larger than a 6.8 round because it has more surface area (the corners), but not hugely so.

As you are working with ERD just ask Chris to take a picture of the cushion next to a 6.8 round and you can see for yourself. That's what I'd do.

Oh ok!! Geez I'll email Chris right now. He gave such a polite and kind response when I rejected it but I could swear there was a hint of being puzzled. Thanks!

Surface area of a 6.8 princess> 6.8 cushion >6.8 round.

Makes total sense now, thanks Julie!
