I''ve noticed, even on some really nice jewelers sites, and on many of the rings here, a visible empty spot down to the culet on round brilliant stones.

What is this that I''m seeing? Is this a flaw? Is the culet huge?

This ring pic I found on Mark Morrells site even has it!

Anyone know what that is?

I think you are seeing a partial, bright reflection of the table on the pavilion surface coming back to your eyes. Because of the angles of the pavilion, the table looks smaller than it is on top of the diamond. A large culet is not a bright spot, but a dark emptiness at the center, bottom of the pavilion which is much more like a tiny window to the outside, not a reflection.

There is a discussion of table reflection here. Link
