I just got my diamond from WF, I admit it was scary making an online purchase but the diamond that I got was so pretty I''m glad I went the online route. This online purchase is definitely not going to be the last one after seeing this great looking diamond!

One thing I''m curious about tho is that I bought a diamond from the Expert Selection, however, the verification letter that came with it said the girdle is inscribed with "A Cut Above with AGS#", is the diamond ACA or not?

i guess some things you can do, is check the cert you have with the data shown on the origonal web page.

and see if the cert matches that info.

other wise a) take it to a appraiser who can magnify the diamond to check whas inscribed on the girdle. and B) get in touch with Lesly and just make sure that in this case a slip up hasnt happened and you''ve ended up with the wrong cert, or its is right, and thats whats inscribed.

A Cut Above == aca
Lord Summerisle gave you great advice.
I notified WF about this post so they can look into it for you from their end.

Aye, but if he''s bought a ES stone, why has it come with a cert saying its inscribes with the ACA logo and AGS cert #? i think thats the question.

Perhaps WF made a mistake and shipped both the wrong stone and the wrong cert... In which case Flee has truely gotten a great deal as I believe that WF would live with their mistake...

Thanks for all your replies. I left out one thing, when I sent it to my jeweller to have it set, he said he could not find the inscription. I wonder if the cert has a mistake??

I am thoroughly confused. (I am also amazed that the rest of you seem to understand each other!) What is *supposed* to be on the girdle of a diamond that one buys from Whiteflash?

All of the ACA diamonds have the brand and cert number on the girdle.
The ES diamonds some have the cert # some dont.
The virtual diamonds may have something on the girdle or they may not depending on the supplier.

Does that mean an ES (Expert Selection) should not say "ACA" or "A Cut Above"? Does it mean that an ES stone should either have ONLY the cert number (at most) and possibly no cert number?

currect as I know it.

note from John:
The only stones that have inscription on the girdle
in ES are GIA Dossiers because that's the way they work but all other
stones in ES (if AGS) do not have an inscription.

tho i thought, might just be for the ES earrings... the diamonds have the WF logo inscribed on them. At Least thats what it mentions on the earring page.

There was a recent post about the same thing happening to someone else...they bought an ES stone and the Verification Letter said ACA. Guess WF needs to be a bit more diligent about proofing the verification letters!! Maybe template use is to blame??

Flee,

We made a mistake on the letter, but you received the right diamond.

Brian went to the office today to verify the digital video of the packing of your product. You received the diamond you ordered, so that’s not a question. There is an error on the verification letter, and we will issue you a corrected letter with an explanation note from the appraiser asap.

Mara speculated wisely. The independent appraisers we contract do letters on a large volume of diamonds. In order to streamline the process they have templates with which they merge the diamond data. This one examined your diamond to make sure everything was as advertised but selected the wrong template (one for an ACA). When the ACA template merged the data it took the AGS# and printed inscription info as a matter of course.

You do have the right stone but there is no inscription on its girdle.

We should have caught the erroneous line in the verification letter before we shipped. Please accept our apologies.

Whiteflash Inscription Clarification:

All A Cut Above diamonds are inscribed with the ACA logo and the AGS number which is printed on the Diamond Quality Document.

Expert Selection diamonds: Nothing is specifically inscribed. Diamonds with GIA dossiers are, but that’s part of the GIA dossier program and has nothing to do with WF.

Expert Selection diamond earrings: These are stones expertly selected for earrings but have no grading report from a lab. It’s in-house grading verified by an appraiser. We inscribe the WF logo on them to help with identification.
