I've been meaning to share this story, but I've been so busy with work. I did it! My fiance and I been engaged since June of last year and August is the big day! After sharing 4 wonderful years together and we are ready for the next chapter together. I would like to thank everyone on Pricescope, James Allen, and Victor Canera for working with me to create the perfect engagement ring for my fiancé. She loves it and I couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help.
About a year ago I started my search clueless about diamonds and settings, and now I know so much more. I’m still no expert, but I feel I learned enough to get the most out of my budget and pair a beautiful diamond with a high quality setting. I’m sure there are going to be other men who stumble across this forum just like I once did looking for answers and guidance and I thought I would share my experience.
Pricescope:
This engagement ring is the most expensive purchase I have ever made in my life, haha. With any big purchase I always do my research and that’s how I fortunately found Pricescope. If you want to learn how to get the most engagement ring for what your budget allows, this is the best place to be. There is a wealth of information and so many kind people who are willing to help. The more I read, the more I felt confident with making my purchase. I made a budget for myself and prioritized which of the 4 C’s were important to me in order to pick my diamond.
James Allen:
There are many great Pricescope vendors and if you’re looking for a diamond you should view through all of them. I chose my diamond from James Allen. What a wonderful website. Price wise, it seems to be comparable or a little less than the other competitors. To me, the website is easy to navigate, the filter function is wonderful, great info provided and great images. Although, my advice is to not get so caught up with imperfections seen in the images. When zoomed in at 40x you’re bound to find something wrong that is most likely not noticeable by eye. Use the HCA calculator to identify 3 diamonds you like, request a review by a gemologist and idealscope images, then choose the best of the 3.
Victor Canera:
What a great guy. I actually met Victor at his office in LA after many emails back and forth. I visited him thinking I knew what ring I wanted, but left choosing something I didn’t consider. A lot of people know exactly what they want when creating their engagement ring. I on the other hand just had a basic idea of what I wanted. I decided to place my trust in Victor to make the decisions on the details and I got to admit I was a little nervous. I quickly came to realize the man has been doing this for so long and he does his work well. The engagement ring he made is beautiful. It’s simple, classy and elegant, and my fiance loves it.
Once again, thank you everyone for your help!
