On Christmas Eve I got engaged and my new fiancé gave me a wonderful new ring with a sapphire that he bought inThailand.

He had the ring custom made in 18k white gold with the side stones at a custom shop in Hong Kong and then we took it to Neil (who we found through this site) to get our appraisal. I never knew it could be so much fun to get an appraisal! He spent over an hour with us and told us more about the stone than I ever thought was possible. He gave us great pictures and I just loved all the cool gadgets in his office and we looked over some other stones that we had from the same trip in anticipation of making a pendant to wear at the wedding. We got a great deal on the ring and just wrote a policy with Jewelers Mutual to insure it.
