First of all, congratulations to all the other ladies who got engaged over the past few days! Secondly, thanks to everyone here for educating me about stones and rings and thanks also for helping me stay sane during this time!
Background info (since I am not a regular poster): I am 28, my fiance (!) is 29. We have been together for a little over 3 years. I was actually going to add myself to the list yesterday...even though I have been on pricescope for a while I kept putting off adding myself...
So, he proposed on 1/1. Even though all the clues were in my face I still did not expect it...He took me to a hotel''s spa, we got a couple''s massage (he hates massages and definitely could not relax during his). This hotel has private outdoor soaking tubs, so after the massage we went out to the deck and I saw there was champagne and a cheese plate and rose petals everywhere. Believe it or not, I still was not sure it was going to happen then. He told me he was going to play proposal tricks on me so I thought maybe that''s what he''s doing now and also I just thought he wanted to start the year off right. If you see the Suspicious Activity Thread you''ll see that I had some inkling it might be 1/1 but I wasn''t totally sure...So he told me to get into the tub...and I saw he was hiding something behind his back. He got down on one knee outside of the tub and took both my hands and said some very sweet things which I was too overwhelmed to register and asked me to marry him. I hugged him and said yes! yes! yes!. Then he asked if I wanted to see the ring..haha. After that we enjoyed the tub for about an hour. Then he said he has another surprise...he had a limo drive us out to an amazing restaurant out in wine country. We had a very indulgent day..
So the stats...all I know is that it''s a 3 carat sapphire from ceylon and that the band has hearts on fire diamonds in it. The ring size is a 4.5 but I think I am a 4.25 so I need to figure out if I want it resized or not. The pic is awful, I am still figuring out how to do this.
