Tension ring

I posted how my rings were insured for the same amount my husband purchased them for 26 years ago. I'm so glad I had the appraisal redone as the engagement ring was insured for 1/3 of the replacement value. My wedding band was 1/4 of replacement value.

Years ago, a jeweler who had done other work for me over the years offered to clean my rings and accidentally emoved the matte finish. They attempted to replace it but it was never the same so in addition to having an appraisal, I had my rings sent back to Steven Kretchmer (his daughter runs the business now) and the rings look like they did the day my husband proposed. I didn't think to take before photos but the after ones make me so happy.

Engagement ring specs: 18k yellow gold, .68ct round brilliant, E color, Si1, 7 melees .07ct

Oh wow! I love the ombré effect of the polished to brushed! Plus you have the tension which makes it SO special. I’ve never seen anything like it. Would adore hand shots.

These look awesome! I love a tension setting at the best of times, but the addition of the 'broken' ring with the 'hidden' diamond is super-cool

Thank you for all the nice comments. I do love my ring and the ombre style was the original design from the early 90s. There are now many variations on the ring and I sort of wish they were available when I got engaged because it's a very thick band. But I do love my ring is different than everyone else's.
