From following discussions here, I''m understanding that these three ebay stores are all owned by the vendor know as Tan: vvs1gem, GemBuriOnline, and OdysseyGem.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference in their inventory, policies, or recommendations?

I''ve only had experience with Gemburionline, and it''s been positive so far. I love the fact that you can see a video of the stone close up and he shipped my stone the next day. Even though it was Registered Mail, it arrived within a week and a half.

So far, the stone matches the description and video.

I have no doubt I''ll be buying from him again.

Think of it as buying from the same store. He will combine purchases, and do anything from one store to another. I think some ebay sellers have to open multiple stores because ebay punishes them if they make too much money with one store. Don''t quote me on that, but I think I heard that at one time.

I wonder if his inventory might also be somewhat separated by price range. They all have auctions starting at $9. However, if you look specifically at heated rubies, Odyssey Gem starts at $66, Gemburi $75, and VVS1 at $760. That being said, I haven't seen a "trend" for any other gemstones. He has quite a few under $200 rubies, so I wondered why they weren't at VVS1. It could be coincidental.

Indy,
I think you're reading too much into it.

I see no discernable difference in the quality of stones at any of his stores, but feel free to ask him about it.

I think there isn''t much of a difference between Gemburi and Odysseygem, but I do think that VVS1 has the greatest proportion of higher priced gems.

Could be, I also know that it has the smallest selection out of the three stores, so you may be correct.

I just made my first purchase from vvs1gem. I''m hoping the stone will be nice. we will see.
