There just aren't words to express my horror at reading about this. My heart goes out to that community and those families.

I can only hope that this atrocity will somehow galvanize the community do more to rid itself of the Taliban.

agree.
waging war on children is about as ungodly and unmanly as it comes.....no mater what one's religion.
my nasty side says take them out like you would a rabid dog.
and i'm guessing that is what it will take....but unless the Pakistan people do this it will only create more ill will towards the US.

Absolutely. We cannot intervene in the internal affairs of Pakistan over this. It is the kind of occasion the US has used many times as a pretense when it wants to to invade a country and topple a regime. For better or for worse, I don't think the US "needs" to topple the present Pakistani regime. (It is not as if this were Allende and Chile, after all. No one is threatening socialism!)

It is too bad that the Taliban is so welcome in Pakistan.

So incredibly horrific and tragic. It was difficult to see the news reels of the classrooms with blood splattered everywhere, chunks of mortar blasted from the walls and bullet holes in the blackboard. I hope Pakistan takes the Taliban with a more critical eye to keep their citizens safe.
