Hi guys I''m new here, I was informed that this is a great place to ask advice.
In the next week I''m hopefully going to buy an engagement ring but I''m not sure I''m choosing the right ''level'' of diamond. So far I''ve got this:

Platinum Four-Claw Solitaire Engagement Ring Setting has a 0.50 carat Round diamond with Ideal-cut, F-colour, and VVS2-clarity.

I''m wondering if this is a good combination? Any help would be great!

Matt

It''s very, very high quality.

I assure you that face-up, an I SI1 will look colorless and flawless at this size.

Welcome Matt!

Ditto Julie, it is up to you but if the cut is great then lower colour and clarity can also look superb and this might help the budget so you can get a larger diamond, but it is of course down to personal preference.

Thanks for the replies :)

I''ve been looking at a different (and slighly cheaper) diamond, could you offer your opinions on this please? Thanks

This should be a very pretty diamond. It scores a 1.3(x,x,x,vg,TIC) on the HCA and all the numbers look really good.

Edit - if you want to lower cost you could really lower your specs down to G, VS2 (or eye clean SI1).
