My bf and I are debating on getting a custom ring that is similar to the Tacori 2622PRMDP. Do you think that this can be done or is the design to intricate to get a custom one done?? Not sure if the extra cost is worth the brand name?

I think that it can definitely be done by the right bench, but how much you will save (or not) I don't know. Custom work can be costly depending on a number of things. For example hand forged work is usually much more expensive that a CAD/CAM, but I think more of the design element is lost with a CAD piece....

I would check around with vendors since Tacori prices can vary. I personally would go with setting you love since a ring can't be 100% copied. Solomon Brothers, GOG carry Tacori and a few of the other PS vendors.

Hi jfair!

Have you seen this Tacori setting in person? The reason I ask is that their designs can look very different from what you see in ads in magazines or on the computer. In ads, you can see all the detail, but sometimes it gets "lost" when you see it in real life. Good Luck! :wavey:

Post a picture - I have no idea what that setting looks like.

Remember that with designs like these, it would be a violation of copyright to be copied exactly, so your local designer would have to change it up some.

I would just go ahead and get the original.

Mmmm, $6800 is a lot but it includes the sidestones. Getting a 3-stone princess setting made custom isn't a big deal, but it can't look exactly like the profile view of that one because good ring makers won't copy it. And off hand, the only two people I'd have make that ring for me would be Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch, and it would probably be better quality. It might be worth a call if you don't mind having some changes. I think that ring could be done for less if the side stones are small.
