I recently purchased this tacori halo setting
http://www.arthursjewelers.com/jewelscart2000/store/jewelscart2000_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9737

. . . and I LOVE how it looks from the top -- bling bling. BUT, from the side view, I''m concerned that it may look a little too "busy."

I was trying to find a match for this Tiffany halo:
http://www.tiffany.com/Engagement/Item.aspx?sku=21463485

. . . and I thought the Tacori was the closest I could find.

Does anyone know of a halo setting that reasonably (and affordably! :)) mimics the Tiffany setting without the "busy" side view that the Tacori has? --- NOTE: I don''t like the Ritani endless love

.

Or is the busy side view of the Tacori something she''ll like?

Thanks so much for your help!

I''m not sure what you mean by "busy," but here''s a shot. The Tacori looks lovely, but is not very close to the Tiffany you''re trying to replicate. The Tacori has an antique-y style to it. I assume by "busy" you''re referring to the basket area, with the vertical wires? That''s fairly consistent with genuine antique rings. The Tiffany is more "interpreted antique" with a more modern execution, to my eye. Whiteflash does something similar, which goes a step further to modern. I believe you can request that WF do milgraining on the halo of their setting, similar to the look of the Tiffany.

Well, that Tacori AND it's busy side view are what prompted me to go custom... I wanted a plain high polish shank. But there are actually a few settings with a halo and a high polish shank.

But I'm confused as to whether or not you want diamonds in the shank.

I'll link you to those I know of right off the top of my head that DO NOT have diamonds in the shank... and maybe some of the other ladies can help out with other suggestions, if they know of any.

Here's a thread with a bunch of them :

Personally, I love this particular Tacori setting.

I don''t see anything busy about it as it still appears elegant with nice lines. This, however, is just my interpretation. You know your gf best. If you think that she will find it busy, then maybe something else would be better.

Just wanted to share the fact that I love it so

... if someone out there does ... maybe your gf will as well.

Good luck with your search!

If you want diamonds in the shank, like the Tiffany, there are many (not ritani) options as well. What''s your budget?

WOW! Thanks for the great response.

Gypsy, I think my gf would like the look of diamonds both in the basket/head (is that what you call it?) and along the band itself. Personally, I especially like the look of diamonds in the basket/head part of the ring -- like those two from Pearlman Jewelers you linked to in your previous post, they look fantastic.

My budget is about $1,500 for the setting (the Tacori in WG was about $1,400), so those Pearlman settings (~$3-4k each) are probably out of reach for me.

The WF in white gold is $1495 . . . here

That's exactly what I was thinking...

Here you go: PRONG set like the Tacori: http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/Halo-Prong-Ring-by-WF_941.htm

Bezel set like the Tiffany: http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/Halo-Bezel-Ring-By-WF_940.htm

Ignore blue disclaimer at bottom of those pages. It is supposed to say that you just have to either buy your stone from WF, or have your stone sent to WF for setting into the setting. They will set stones bought elsewhere.
