Helllllllo PS! I''ve finally come out of lurkdom because my bf and I''ve been doing some ring eye-shopping and I''ve got some questions. For those of you with Tacori''s, did you buy it online or at a retail store? What is the average price for a tacori setting with diamonds (not solitaire)? (their website doesn''t have any prices and I''m not sure where to look online). Do the newer models cost more than the older ones? Do all the models come with a lifetime guarantee? How can you tell the difference b/t the newer and older models? Is there a huge price difference b/t 18k and platinum? Sorry for all the questions but I don''t live near a Tacori store and I''m sooooo in love with them but I just don''t know if it''s within our budget. Thanks for the help!

Hello, Pretty, great to see you coming out of lurkdom! I bought my Tacori set at a store that I had to drive 42 miles to get to, but it was worth it. I don't even have the set yet because I am still paying it off, but it is the style HT 2352 (half-way version). I don't know how you tell an older style from a newer one, but I think mine is one of the older "mermaid" styles.

I think I got good pricing because since my set was one of the older styles, the price reflected the price of platinum before it went up, and the store passed that on to me. The store is called Collections and their number is 1-800-779-3207. You might want to call and speak to Stephanie. My saleslady Shawna is no longer there, but Stephanie is great too.

I think that all Tacoris have warranties. You should probably also know that Tacori makes each style in different sizes to accomodate different budgets. For example, my rings are the half-way versions where the diamonds don't go all the way around the finger. I did not particularly care to have diamonds decorating my palms. I didn't have the money for that!

Also, the rings are made in petite versions that accomodate 1 carat diamonds, as opposed to those that are made for 1.5 ct. and up diamonds. I bought my diamond first and then had to find a ring, but it might be easier to find the ring you like, then find the diamond to fit.

Have you looked at GoodOldGold.com for a diamond? They also selll Tacori. As far as pricing goes, it is all over the map. So I think it is best to start pricing a few styles you like and go from there. Hope that help!!! I will try to attach photos of my rings, just to show you. Hope it works.

Didn''t work, I''ll try again.

Here's the side. And yes, there is a difference between platinum and white gold. You might take that into account and decide what is more important to you. But either one from Tacori is nice. I really wanted platinum so I was glad I found that.

The band. I am amazed that I found the whole thing at one time with a head to fit my 1 ct. Jubilee cut diamond. Most Tacoris you see in stores have heads for 1.5 ct. and up diamonds.

Well, I''m not a Tacori Girl, but I am an authorized Tacori retailer... Can I provide some insight?

Tacori generally sets the selling price for their merchandise, therefore there is not a price advantage provided by purchasing a Tacori ring online. However many online dealers do provide exceptional service which can be an advantage, we have provided service for many people who purchased their Tacori rings elsewhere.

Newer Tacori ring styles do not cost more than older Tacori ring styles, the cost is based upon the metal and diamond weight as well as design costs...

There is a substantial price difference between the platinum and all 18k gold versions of the rings, however that is because there is a substantial price difference between gold and platinum. Let''s see, the spot price for platinum today is $2,019.00 an ounce and gold is at $946.00 per ounce. Putting this concept into theory, let''s look at pricing for Tacori HT2326 which is featured in current advertising as the ring on the spoonful of caviar.

As pictured in the advertisement, the full version of HT2326 is designed to accommodate a round brilliant cut center stone with an outside diameter between 7.3 – 8.0 mm and sells for $11,310.00 in platinum and $8,970.00 in 18k white gold, the approximate total weight of the accent diamonds is around 1.60 carats. A half version of the ring is available as HT2326.5 which has a solid bottom shank instead of the crescent pattern going all the way around the bottom of the ring as it does in the full version, this option sells for $9,600.00 in platinum and $7,260.00 in 18k white gold, the approximate total weight of the accent diamonds is around 1.10 carats.

Tacori understands that not everybody wants a 1.70 – 2.00 carat center stone, so they usually offer their ring designs for different size center stones, for instance there is a smaller version of this ring offered as HT2326SM (SM for small) which is designed to accommodate a round brilliant cut center stone measuring between 6.3 – 6.7 mm in diameter. Pricing is $6,890.00 for platinum and $5,340.00 for 18k white gold, the approximate total weight of the accent diamonds is around 1.05 carats for the full version.

Obviously the price of each Tacori design will be different depending on the metal weight of the ring, the total carat weight, the labor intensity of the design, etc. so these prices are merely intended to provide some insight into the difference between platinum, white gold, and the options available for different size center stones, shank designs, etc. All prices are Tacori published suggested MSRP and are subject to change without notice. This is not intended as an offer to sell the rings and is provided for research purposes only.

The easiest way to identify the newer Tacori designs from older Tacori designs is to look at the Tacori web site or featured advertisements in popular magazines, Tacori tends to advertise their most recent designs. Of course, you can ask an authorized Tacori retailer whether the design you are considering is more recent or older… Tacori frequently purges older designs from their currently offered collections so generally speaking only the past few year or two of designs is readily available without having to special order the ring. Normal production is approximately four weeks from the date of order and increases to about six weeks during the holiday season.
