I'm not an expert but from what I've read it really depends on what you're looking for. If you have a diamond with a bigger table then it will look bigger but you'll more than likely lose some brilliance etc. It's a flatter diamond proportionally and the cut may be too shallow allowing for light to leak through the bottom of the stone.
My opinion but i'm sure some experts will ring in soon. If not do a search since i'm sure this has been mentioned before.
The thing is, I was about to buy this diamond on the condition that it was "eye clean", and the lady at WhiteFlash came back and said the manufacturer claims it''s eye cleanish...
That "ish" on the end of clean really scares me! So I''ve been kind of looking around some more. I thought I was done, but now I''m looking again!
As best as I can figure out, the table smaller than depth concept comes from people trying to guess crown height without the benefit of a sarin. A stone with a table smaller than the depth is more likely to have a fuller crown. If you can get a sarin, and ensure the stone has a nice crown, then I wouldn''t worry about the table vs. depth thing.
