Switched from Princess to Round - Advise Please

Hi Everyone,

I went to look at the 1.29 G/VS2 princess cut diamond and somehow it didn;t seem to sparkle as much as the first time I saw it. Plus with no refund policy I decided not to purchase it. I started looking a rounds and think I may go that way as the brilliance is uncomparable.

How you guys/glas comment on this stone please. I don;t know as much about rounds as princesses.

can you get a Sarin report (provides crown and pavilion angles) and/or an idealscope image? Those would be really helpful. You just don''t have enough info for us to make any judgments yet. Also, that stone is somewhat off round at 6.88 and 7.03.

However, it appears that you have SEEN the stone- which is a lot more than any of us can say! Since you are new to rounds, you should probably make sure you see some ideal cuts and such so you know what to look for and what you like.

We would need more info to help you with this one. Some of it you should find on the GIA cert if you have a copy. Can you add crown and pavillion angles and culet if possible ? Does the stone have any fluoresence? With this info we would be able to tell you a lot more. Also where are the inclusions located? Hope this helps!

Have you used this -- http://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp.

It will let you know which stones can be worthy of checking into further.

Also, you can talk to some of the vendors directly. If you know what you want/need they will help you to find it. I worked with Jamie from Whiteflash and she was very helpful. If you call there be sure to mention me. It will not get you a discount but it might get me one on my second purchase.

I will have a Sarinn this by next week. The cloud was in the middle somewhere but not eye visable and the feather was at the 9:00 position.
I realize I don;t have the whole picture. I am trying to learn more about rounds.
