Susi, it is my understanding that you have a bambe medium peg head from Stullers. I am looking at this setting for a 1.71 diamond and am curious if it sits flush with a wedding band. We are looking at a 7 stone shared prong wedding band. Could you please post pictures of how your rings sits? Would it sit flush with a 1ct 7 stone shared prong wedding band. Thank you very much for the help.

Hello, Atoth.....I just saw your post....yes, I have this mount....and went searching for pics. I have 2 that might help a little until I can take more in sunlight hours. You will see that the little cup/base that holds the prongs does stick out a little although not a lot.

The stone size *might* influence this, tho, but I don't know that for sure. A slightly smaller stone might cause the little base/cup and prongs to not stick out as much? My stone is 9.5mm.

Anyway.....I'm hoping these help. Notice this one shows the underside of the ring with the cup edge sticking out a little. I wear a plain wedding band with this ering....so am not much help as to whether a shared prong diamond band would rub against it.

The prong that is over the mid part of the finger is up and away in *this* ring and does not rub on my wedding band.....would it be up and away holding a slightly smaller diameter stone?? Would it with a shared prong diamond band?? I wish I had the answer.....

Susi,

I think that your ring is beautiful and that is what we are looking for. Does it sit flush with your plain band? I really wish that someone had the answer as to whether that setting would sit flush or really close to flush with a shared prong. My guess is yes if the diamonds aren''t too big. Thanks again for your help.

One more thing, do you know the exact name or numbers on the stuller setting in case I decide to get it. I would hate to order the wrong one. Thanks again

Just wanted to chime in and say that I have seen the solstice in person and it is so pretty! I think there are a number of choices in style. the one I saw seemed like it would fit flush. come back with pics!!!

the head is called the solstice and the shank is the 'bombe'.

you can also get the stuller 6 prong solstice head and have it placed on a band more peg-set style so that a w-ring will sit flush with it. the head sits on top of the ring rather than integrated into the band. typically the bombe kind of style like that, and like the real tiffany style rings, will not sit totally flush with another ring because of the small donut that protrudes from under the stone and head. i have a stuller 6 prong head on top of my ring and my wring sits flush but the head is not integrated into the band. good luck!

Susi,

My fianci would like to know if your ring sits flush with a regular band and if you have pictures of it. She is very concerned that if it doesn't sit flush enough (whatever that is) that she won't like it. Since we already have one setting that she doesn't like, she wants to make sure on this one. We are looking at getting a 1ct 7stone or 9stone shared prong ring which I know won't sit as well as your plain band. It is just that there is nowhere around here that we can see the setting and it hard to buy something without seeing it.

One more thing. Do you know how thick the band is? Can you order it in different thicknesses?

Thanks again for all your help.

PS- Does anyone else have this same setting that may be of some insight?

I am going to guess that this ring is 3mm...it''s that much at least. And, when you''re looking at the pics I posted above, you''ll see the little donut holding the peg does stick out from the band a little on both sides. I feel you''re asking for my call on whether a diamond band would sit flush and as this, I feel, is very important in your decision making....I would have to say no....it would fit closely but not right up against the ering.

What I will do, is when at home this evening, I will get out my ring and the band and put them right up against each other....but, remembering, that a diamond band will be somewhat taller than a plain plat band, as it will not lay as low as my plat band. And, being taller or thicker it is more likely not to fit as flush.

These are just my thoughts....again, I''ll put the two rings together later today when I''m back home....and see how they look.

Thank you so much again.
