The JA rep said they were confident it is but they are going to get it checked to be safe, which is fair enough. I specified I want it 100% eye clean not just from 6" - I just don't see how a big black crystal on the table can be eye-clean but I haven't seen that many diamonds. Perhaps some of you have an idea regarding this? Of course it will largely be speculation but I will let you know the result, I've been told it will take a few days.

Looking forward to seeing what you think :).

I dont see how that could be eye-clean either. Even if the carbon is over an arrow and doesn't show up while viewing straight on,
I would think it would be visible at a tilt.

See what the vendor says. It is a smaller stone so maybe...but I have my doubts.

Thanks for your input. I think what you have said is absolutely right, I think that from an angle it would definitely be visible - from the sounds of things it seems Tourmaline described it very well lol ^^.

In my experience that should have received no better then an SI2,its black, its large and its right in the middle-all negatives.

Hi OP, I recently reviewed what "eye clean" means on BGD and it means eye-clean with an unaided eye from 12"-18" away looking straight on from top down. JA may have a similar definition? As was discussed already, it's probably because it's hidden by the contrasting arrow and needs a tilt to be seen. Also, these images are magnified. You can find better as it will probably plague mind clean.

Thanks everyone, I've told them to cancel the test as I wouldn't buy it anyway - I'm convinced it won't be 100% eye-clean, if it is eye-clean from 12" away that just isn't good enough for me.

It shows black in the video, but is it really black? The lighting used can often make crystalline inclusions that are white actually look black in a video or photo. I have seen this many times when making videos of my diamonds. NASTY looking BLACK gletzes in the video or picture are sometimes totally invisible to the eye inclusions is normal lighting.

Granted, this appears to be black and may well be visible, but we should wait until the vendor looks at the diamond to be sure before condemning this possibly beautiful diamond.
