Hello all, I''m a longtime lurker, but am in need of some advice. I am looking for a super ideal cut, or H&A RB stone 1-1.5 ct. I''ve been to a HoF dealer, and although the stones were beautiful, they weren''t worth the money. Can anyone recommend a place where I can get a comparable stone?

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

In NY area you can try Good Old Gold, they are in Long Island if that isn't too far from you, also Mark at Engagement Rings Direct is great too. Also if you would consider shopping online, Whiteflash have their own superb A Cut Above H&A diamonds which you could look at, they are located in Texas. James Allen are in Maryland I think so they perhaps may be an option also ( if I have my geography right!).

definitley worth the short drive to www.goldoldgold.com, just make sure to call ahead and make an appt. so they''ll have time set aside just for you.

also, mark t at www.engagementringsdirect.com is located right in the diamond district, you''ll need to have an appt there as well.

You could try Barry at Excel Diamonds, which is in the diamond district in NYC. He has his Supercert "super ideal" branded diamonds, along with others. I had a good experience with him recently, although I ended up going to Jon at Good Old Gold, because of the immense amount of data he had on stones and the fact he had the type of stone I was looking for at the right price point. I think it would be worth the drive to Good Old Gold. From my experience, I also wouldn''t hesitate dealing with Nice Ice and White Flash, even though they are out of state.

Thank you all for your responses! I''m looking forward to seeing some great stones

Also check out www.michaeljay.com - he is in the heart of the diamond district and can pretty much get his hands on anything! He has an online inventory as well as being a B&M, he is also a great guy to deal with!

Good Old Gold, no question about it!

I''m working with Mark at ERD right now. He is great. You would make a mistake if you don''t see him in my opinion.
