I was a little unsure about this purchase initially but my fears were unfounded once I opened the package. It is a 6.7 carat Loliondo spessartite measuring close to 12 x 9 mm from GemLine/Litnon. Michael was totally honest with me about the colour and inclusions but the price was right and the colour is excellent for a Loliondo. As expected, it does have a yellow modifier but it is less pronounced when in the shade or under incandescent/reveal fluorescent lighting. There is also a fracture type inclusion seen in the close up picture that does NOT break the surface, thankfully. It becomes almost eye clean at around 12 inches away from the eyes. The typical sugars are present but not easily detected with the naked eye.
The super close up where you can see the fracture. Fortunately, the colour is good enough to distract the eye from the inclusion.
Full hand shot showing that the inclusion cannot be seen at a normal viewing distance. There’s no sun at all today so this is one of the not so nice pictures. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow too so I may not be able to take more pictures until later in the week.
