Hey folks, I need some opinions - the stronger the better. My head is all over the place! I''ve got ~6 months until the wedding.

Right now, my hair looks like it does in the image. Asymetrical bob, one piece of hair longer on one side, asymetrical bangs with the opposite side longer. I''m seriously debating whether to grow it out for the wedding, or to keep it short? My hair grows like crazypants, so it would probably be down to or past my shoulders by July. I want to keep the bangs, and I''d cut it again right before the honeymoon. But then there''s that awkward growing-out phase, and I think my hair is kind of cute now? Can''t do much with it for the wedding though.

Theme...thinking about dark red sunflowers (the ones with purple stems) and peacock feathers. Too offbeat/weird? I like the colors. Then there''s the fact that I booked a rose garden for the ceremony. Does this mean I pretty much have to stick with roses? I like the rusty colors of the sunflowers, but now I wonder if it would look weird at the ceremony. The roses at the garden are all different colors.

I had a nightmare where the wedding was happening way sooner, and only a few people were there because I didn''t have the time to send out invitations.

Sorry for the rambling post, but that dream sure lit a fire under my bottom! Any opinions, thoughts, ideas would be SO appreciated. I was never the girl that dreamed about her wedding, and I can only seem to pick up wedding reading material for five minutes at a time before getting completely overwhelmed.

Haha I feel you with the overwhelming feelings!

I think the sunflowers are absolutely gorgeous!! I didn't even know those existed. But if the rose garden has all different colors, I don't think sunflowers would be bad as long as you don't overuse them or put them right next to the roses? Or maybe they'd actually contrast great right next to the roses?

The peacock flowers add a great punch of color too and go great with the sunflowers. Don't know if that'd be too much going on with the roses... I'm leaning towards I think it'd all be great together.

I think the best thing would be to use the sunflowers and feathers sparingly in the ceremony, then use them full out in the reception where the focus can be more on them. Great ideas though - not weird at all!

ETA: Sorry, no advice here about the hair, hehe that's not my strong point.

WOW those sunflowers are beautiful.

I think they can definitly work with the rose garden if anything I think having a complimentary contrasting flower/colour/patterns would be quite effective you don''t want to blend into the surrounds so being different is a good thing IMHO :).

As for your hair shoulder length hair is easier for a larger range of styles I would guess but you can always get hair pieces for the day if needed, talk to a stylist and see what they say and work from there :), I really like the hair BTW :D.

I actually think that going with roses would be to matchy-matchy for my taste, considering you are going to be married in a rose garden. I like the idea of using other flowers to make you pop. And, those sunflowers and feathers are divine.

If your haircut (which I love, by the way) is a reflection of your personality, I think it is better to keep that. But, if you think you could still be you with longer hair, it does give you more options and is far cheaper than getting extensions.

I am also considering being a short-haired bride. In the end, I want to look like myself on my wedding day. So, I feel like having longer hair or having an updo would make me look different from what I am (if that makes sense). I have, though, thought about getting rid of the asymmetry in my cut before the ceremony because I feel like that is really trendy now and I don''t want pics that could be dated by my first anniversary. So, that is something you might want to consider.

I love those sunflowers-they''re gorgeous and I think that they go great with the peacock feathers. I don''t think that they''ll be too much with the roses. With your hair, as others have said it is easier to do more styles with shoulder length hair but you could definitely get a head piece or some nice hair clips with shorter hair. Go with whatevers more you.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for your thoughts and opinions! I talked it over with my mom, too, and I''m definitely going to go with the sunflowers and feathers. I''m also going to try growing them myself...so we''ll see how THAT goes! I remember sunflowers being easy to grow when I was a little kid, so I''ll see if my memories hold true.

I''m going to grow out the hair. I can always cut it before the wedding if I decide I don''t like it, and I think it''ll look cute pulled back. I showed my FI kind of what it would look like by pulling my hair back with one hand and sweeping the bangs to the side with the other, and he really liked it! He''s only known me with short hair.

Thank you again!

I think you and your wedding will be totally gorgeous! I think you're right on about growing out your hair, because it's 100% true that you can always cut it if you find you prefer the shorter hair (which I think looks great on you, BTW). But it'll be fun to see what you come up with, style-wise, when you have more "material' to work with.

The decor is amazing! Rich, lush, beautiful, powerful, festive and elegant, all at the same time!

FWIW, I don't think you'll have a problem matching your chosen decor to a rose garden. real flowers/plants, natural settings---those go with everything, and I just think the roses will serve as a soft 'frame' for the bold decor you've chosen. It's pretty perfect, really.
