Suggestions on how to aquire a pair of matching green stones

Greetings all,

Wife and I are trying to acquire a pair of stones that will match the one that she currently has in her pendant we had made earlier this year by Julia.

We understand that there is no way that it will match exactly but since it is so far away from the pendant we are hoping that it won't be to noticeable. We love the stone's rich green color and how lively it looks but wonder if we got really lucky with this Chrome Tourmaline and perhaps we might have to choose another type of stone to pair with it.

Guess my basic question is how do we inform the vendor of our current color since each computer monitor is a bit different as well as lighting effects when the image is taken and what type of stones should we consider?

I wouldn't go down the route of sending photos etc because as you say it's still terribly subjective. I guess I have two suggestions (1) to go back to the original vendor you bought your first stone from or (2) try to source the stones yourself, looking for a good returns policy.

Good gemstones will always vary in colour slightly and since these are for earrings and there will be distance between pendant and earrings, I'd be tempted to accept a slight variance in any case.

Depending on the cut/size you want, you could look on Ebay. I've found this - maybe the vendor would be happy to sell just two?

Have you spoken to Gene at Precisiongem yet? The best way to get matching stones to the pendant would be to go with the same cutter.
