Stuller Solstice 6 prong, bombe shank with peg head

Jared''s "the galleria" is quoting $999 to order a 6 prong, plat, stuller solstice with bombe shank and peg head (15420615). Am i getting ripped off? I found some places online that offer $550 and others that offer $970.

Stuller settings are sold at a ton of retailers and private jewelers. It''s pretty safe to assume that Jared''s marks theirs up. Try calling around and hunt one down from a different jeweler, and have it set by someone you trust.

it definitely would have been a rip off last year, but the way metal prices are now, i don''t know. you could prob get it for a few hundred less.

You do not tell us the size of the stone, and the price varies with the stone size.

Assuming the ring to be for a 1ct, is the $550 price including shipping and stone setting? If so buy it quickly as they will be out of business soon.

It reminds me of a friend I had in Culver City who made HUGE corned beef sandwiches for just a couple of bucks. He used to joke with me that he lost a quarter on each sandwich, but he made up for it with volume.

Don''t expect any after the sale service from that vendor and have the ring checked to make sure it really is what it purports to be. Just my opinion of course...

The reason it sounds a little high to me is that WhiteFlash is selling their beautiful Classic Tiffany reproduction setting for around the $1200 range and it seems so much more elegant than the Stuller ring.
