Hi everyone, I need input on a pair of studs that we'd like to order soon.

Yes, they are H&A and will be set in 14k WG 4-prong basket studs.

I have a J e-ring with no fluor, and I LOVE my ring but I do notice the warmth/tint in the afternoon sun. The question is, from different viewing angle, with studs on earlobes, is the tint noticeable?? These will be my daily pair.

Would hate to purchase the H only to want size upgrade sooner than expected, since this DSS thing is highly contagious. Budget is 3k including setting.

So, I wonder if a pair of super ideal J studs will be ok???

Do post pictures of your H I J studs for comparison. Thanks!!

H&A is meaningless without the right angles for excellent light return.

I wouldn't buy earrings without great light return-- confirmed by an idealscope preferably.

I would go with the larger of the two.

Hi Gypsy, Thanks for your reply.

I have learnt so much from PS. Sorry I forgot to mention that the contenders are BGD vs Whiteflash. So, light performance, check.

So, J it is?? Appreciate all input from all PSers!

Gypsy, any better option based on the size and budget?? Should I be patient, and wait for upcoming mother's day kickbacks???

Thanks again.

Hmm. That's a good point. Mother's Day.

I didn't consider that.

If there's no hurry... I don't know. There might be a nice deal, and they don't give that information out before hand. Then again, there might not be.

You might want to ask what they did for LAST mother's day, though. They might be able to tell you that.

I personally would be looking at GIA 60/60 with Pavillion angles between 40.2 and 41 (with good idealscope) K's with fluorescence (if I could find them), if I was shopping for earrings.

Well. Maybe. If I wanted an upgrade policy, not so much. Then I'd stick to the lines that have upgrade policies (so the ACA, ES, BGD Signature or Blue Line). And I'd be happy with J's or K's.

Most of my real life pricescope friends have earrings that are I-J-K's. I would never pay for higher color than that having seen theirs. My own earrings are a long story and are F/G but they were closeout one of a kind steals I couldn't say no to. So I've seen the comparison. And the J/K's are where I'd be at for sure if I were buying studs now.

I remember BGD having a stud promo last year for Mothers Day. That's when I upgraded my studs. I don't remember the exact promo, maybe free settings or money off the settings? I would wait if I were shopping for studs, just to be sure!

I originally had .60 CTW J's (Signature Line) I will say that I did notice the tint in those. When I upgraded I went to 1.00 CTW H Signature line. These are my sweet spot! Perfect color, perfect size for everyday wear. I have since also purchased a .55 ct BGD Blue I VS2 as a pendant and that diamond looks whiter than my H studs. It's Very Strong Blue & very cool!
So I guess my advice would be get the max size your budget will allow in a color you're comfortable with. Personally I like H-I for MRB's. BTW my e-ring stone is an EC K color and I don't notice the tint unless I'm in the car usually ::)

Hi woofmama, thanks for sharing your experience =)

I think, I'll wait a bit. May is drawing near and I hope I can score a pair of lovelies end April..!

Gypsy, thanks for the confidence to pursue J's!
