This looks like my plans might get destroyed! Hopefully GOG and everyone else in this area (I live in North Jersey due west of GOG, though of course they're out on the island) find out this storm is NOT what it's cracked up to be...

I shouldn't mean to sound like my only concern is the diamond, though that's the first thing that went thru my head. I am currently on night shifts so my GF will be home holding down the fort by herself during this ordeal overnight while I will be there during the daytime. I am hoping for the safety of everyone in this region and that this storm fizzles out like so many of these things do. I am kind of at a loss as to how to plan to get to work, they will NOT be shutting us down as I work at a power plant and we are considered "Essential" to the state. Even if they close the highways I have a pass to get thru road blocks.

Hopefully by the 5th of November it's cleared up because I plan on asking for her parents' blessing on that night!

That is 11 days away! Stop worrying! I am sure it will be fine...but I will be watching the storm with more interest because of you!

I agree - time is on your side. And, in case its not, didn't you just say that even if the roads are closed, you have a pass to get through? Just think how easy it will be, with no traffic and a good tail wind (at least on the way back) to pick up your diamond

In all seriousness, I really think it will be fine and under the circumstances, until it was done, with the ring given and accepted, I wouldn't be able to relax either!

The power company warned people in the area her parents live to expect up to 10 days of power outages. If that comes to pass, all bets are off as I will not be able to have the whole "ask your blessing" discussion down there on my only night off of work without it being pretty crass. I'll be stuck with this ring till at least Thanksgiving and probably longer if I can't get a moment alone with them.
