Got my stones from James Allen today and wanted to post some pics for anyone questioning color grades.

If you want to know the stats on the stones, they're listed in my previous thread, but it's a .69 J vs a .55 G

I'm looking on my kindle...prob not the most ideal screen...but they look identical in color to me. Does the J look warmer in person?

are they both excellent (or ideal) cuts? The J looks white ... which one do you like better?

Which do you perceive to be the more firey of the two? (I know off topic for this thread, but relates to you and these stones)..

And how does the colour visually appear in person? Photos very rarely capture things the same way the human eye does, and then you have to take into account the various screens, resolutions, drivers etc between one persons viewer to the next.

I've tried taking some pics upside down on a white background, I'm using my phone, so no macro capability. Is it normal for stones to look silver like this when upside down? I think the combination of crappy lighting and crappy camera isn't doing the stones justice, maybe I'll try again when it's light out.

Honestly, the pics I took earlier today are an excellent representation of the color of the stones. If they weren't different sizes, I would have mixed them up. Now that I have them upside down on the white cloth, I can see a slight difference, but it's minor.

Theyre both excellent cuts, but the smaller (the G) is also excellent polish and symmetry, while the J is very good in both. Face up, I can't see any difference in color, and even upside down on the white background its so slight that I'm not entirely sure that I'm not just seeing what I expect to see. Lol.

So I'm definitely leaning hard toward the J, it's bigger for the same price.

Photos definitely arent capturing the fire thats for sure! But they seem to be capturing the color pretty well, at least the once I posted face up.

I really cant tell which is more fiery. I was pretty disappointed that JA only sent one of the diamond holders (the little pen shaped claw thing, no idea what it's actual name is) cuz my only method for comparing them in different lighting environments right now is to have them on my hand, which is awkward and super unsecure feeling. I had them outside briefly like that today, but I didn't stay long. I wish there was an app on my phone that could record and quantify fire! (if that's even possible, someone should definitely work on that!)
