Thanks for the reply....We saw a local jeweler over the weekend and discussed these two stones. One is an EGL cert--RDBC 1.463 cts.
E color and VS2. Depth 4.46mm/60.4%
Crown 31.6mm/11.4%
Pavil 42.6mm/45.7%
Table 4.51mm/61.0%
Culet 0.6% /V. Small
Girdle 3.3%
Fluorescence NOT mentionedSecond stone is EGL cert--RDBC 2.01cts. E color and VS1. Depth 62.3%
Table Width 57%
Crown Height 16%
Pavil Depth 44%
Girdle Thickness Med/Facetd
Polish /Good
Symmetry /Very Good

Have been looking at stones on internet through NiceIce and Goodoldgold (both sites r awesome!!)and their stones seem to be alot better quality. The ones the jeweler showed us are apparently "premium" cut. He has NOT yet mentioned a price for either.....RED FLAG CITY!
Just wondering about both---approx price should be? Quality marginal? Etc.

Sunbug, both stones are far from ideal cut. You can check it yourself using the Holloway Cut Adviser on this site. EGL "premium cut" term is something undetermined by my opinion.As you already noticed there are much better quality stones out there. Before you make any decision you might want to look on the ideal cuts and branded Hearts and Arrows diamonds.You are looking for quite high color and clarity. If you would drop the color to G and clarity to SI2 you won't be able to see a difference but you will be able to get better cut that will change the look of the stone dramatically.Check our tutorial. Pay attention on the cut and the role of crown and pavilion angles. Btw, there you can find an information about fluorescence.The internet price for these stones would be $9.5k-$10k for the first and some $23k for the second stone.Please also be aware that EGL reports considered less strict than GIA or AGS. So if you are going to buy EGL 'certed' diamond, try to get third expert opinion.Hope it helpsleonid
