Hi all,

Found a stone. Specs look good (.9 on the Idealscope). Size is right. Color/clarity etc. It's what I'm looking for (so far!)

I like it. But it's Blue Nile (not that they're bad of course, but I couldn't find the same stone on JA or WF).

Opinions?

Hi Steve,

It looks very nice and has good potential, should be a great looking rock!

not bad, good angles and the gcal pictures shows decent optical symmetry.
That''s about all that can be said with the info BN provides.

Thanks for the info. I guess I should have also said I''m looking for a (no worse than) G/VVS2/Excellent round. I realize H/SI1 might be fine, but I''d really like a G/VS2 or better. Around a 10K budget for the stone. Haven''t found any others searching here that are comparable that have an HCA equal or lower.

Others I may have missed?

That one is a definite contender, we can't say much more without images as you know, but BN do have a good return policy so in the rare event you weren't happy, you could send it back. Also to clarify with the HCA, it is used as an elimination tool, not to select diamonds. The aim is to score below 2 then such diamonds are considered a pass pending further evaluation with Idealscope images etc, a lower score is not better than a higher score. Scores under 2 are considered ' equal' until further info is available.

Some more.

There are actually lots to choose from.

HCA score <2 is a good contender and the score is only use to eliminate bad performers not as a selection score.

So the stone you pick is a very good contender, but being a BN signature ideal means it is costlier.

There is a similar spec AGS 0 stone, that is 1k cheaper, here

Also I don''t know if it would ever be a consideration, but I did find a couple of nice diamonds from James Allen who also have an upgrade policy if that might ever be a future possibility, BN do not offer this service.
