Stone clash: solitaire vs wedding band

Is there any way to predict how my solitaire stone might clash (in terms of clarity or colour or cut) with a wedding band I'm considering?

My center stone is a BGD H&A eyeclean SI1, H colour.

The wedding band I'm considering is a Ritani:

Will the stones of the band be okay against my center stone? IIRC Ritani uses F/G coloured stones in this ring.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting. But, sorry, that post went right over my head. It was a bit too technical for me to understand t and pick out the parts of the thread that would answer my question. What is the take home message from that post that would help me figure out my query?

I don't think it will clash at all. I used to have a K color Ideal H&A with an H/I eternity band and that I didn't notice much difference only sparkles. I am pretty you will be safe especially with BGD diamond super ideals that face up extremely white will work with your Ritani. Now if you were going with lower color perhaps in the K color then it might.

Ah, srry. that's one of my favourite discussions and I prob link to it too much 8)

Short answer: that is a very pretty wb! You'll be fine wrt colour/colour differences - you won't see it. What you will see is the difference in performance between your larger engagement ring and the small melee in your eternity, it may or may not bother you - I would strongly recommend trying on some bands at your local jewellers, see what you think of them together.

Only being 2-3 color grades apart this should not be an issue. I think it will look beautiful!

Great! I did try on a Ritani ring at my local jewellers but t was the engagement ring version of the wedding band I have my eye on. So I guess I was a bit distracted by having to pretend it was a wedding band to be paying enough attention to any differnce between the centre stone and the stone of the w-band. Also, their lighting does funny things to the jewllery so it just made me wonder afterwards.

I figured that the colour difference would be negligible as my stone faces up pretty dang white :). But I didn't know about how the center would perform compared to the wedding band melee. I sort of understood what that thread linked above was about but not completely.

Thanks for the advice!

many people don't mind it - there are plenty of PSers who are very happy with their halos, eternity band sets.. but for the few that do, they usually *really* do, so best to be on the safe side and check before purchasing ::)

I think with an H color center you should be fine.

The take home message from the thread Yssie linked is that small melee size diamonds *always* look "whiter" than larger center stone size diamonds, it is the nature of the light return differences between smaller and larger diamonds. So your H center will look *different* than the melee in the wb. DO not mistake that for a bad "color match", the vast vast majority of the perceived difference in "color" between melee and a larger stone is due to the optics of diamonds of different sizes, NOT due to differences in body color.
