I have done a search to find out about what "pinpoints not shown" in the comments section means. I do understand that they are so small that to plot them would overstate their impact on the diamond, and that this is standard notation and not necessarily a red flag.

My questions are about "pinpoints not shown" and the tool that shows light leakage for a stone (the pic is red, black, pink, white, etc - I forget what it''s called).

Is it normal for pinpoints to show up as white spots when using this tool?
Is there a limit to the # of pinpoints that should be present (ie, should I get worried if there are 5, 10, 20 pinpoints)?

A pinpoint is simply a very small diamond crystal and they very often do show up as tiny white dots when viewed through magnification. It sounds like you are describing an ideal scope or a fire scope and both devices use a lens that magnifies the pattern within the diamond so it is possible that you are able to see the pinpoint size diamond crystals not indicated on the plotting diagram when viewing your diamond through one of these devices. However, it is also possible that you are seeing a little oil from a fingerprint or dust... Be sure to clean the diamond before viewing it to eliminate any dust and oil that may be resting on the surface of the diamond. Consult an independent Gemologist if you are still not able to determine what you are looking at.

Thank you!
