Ok so I have never had any custom jewelry made or bought more than the basic ring or necklace for a girlfriend. On top of that i have never owned a pair of cuff-links in my life. All that out of the way I want to get custom made cuff links for my best friend for his wedding. I posted my plan on a site called custommade dot com. I've gotten quotes for doing it by hand for around $180 then i got a few quote from people using CAD and a mill and they were about $450. I would have thought that would be reversed I thought doing it by hand would be much more labor intensive and cost more. I guess I'm asking should I be accepting these offers? does anyone have advice on handmade vs. milled? Is 450 dollars insanely expensive for a pair of cuff links? I'm totally in the dark here just looking for guidance. i'll attach a picture of the design I want. Please any advice would be much appreciated thank you.
