steam function question

Hi!...I was reading in an earlier post today about the Salton Jewelry spa, and concerns were expressed regarding wether the steam function used only distilled water or included cleaning solution as well. Why would it not be desirable to have cleaning solution included in the steam function? Just curious, thanks!

Steamers that clean jewelry like distilled water only.

Using a cleaning solution in the steamer area will probably gunk up the works, plus it isn''t needed when steaming.

If you must have detergent with steam.... clean it with cleaning solution but don''t rinse it off the item.
