I had a set amount I wanted to have in savings to go towards my ring, and we ended up going 38% over that.

But in the end, we''re getting exactly what we want. Just waiting for the CAD at the moment.

We went about 5k under what my DH was willing to spend. I was more interested in an approx ring/size and once we got that I was happy!

My budget wasn''t very high (for these boards at least). My husband told me $7K was the budget, but I knew that he was more comfortable with $6K, and I think the total after taxes was $6,100, so I think we did well. I went down in clarity (to an SI1) and color (to an H) in order to get more size.
