I did a few searches on this topic and I am hoping that someone can please provide me with current information to contact a Chubb agent who offers standalone policies to cover my engagement ring. I have not called any of the agents listed from their site because I am concerned about being pushed to try and get some sort of combo-policy to try and insure something else that I don''t need (like homeowners). Any help is very much appreciated.

Are you in the state of MD. or DC?

Not every Chubb agent can write the standalone jewelry policy.

I do know someone for you....He can write Md but not DC.

How about VA? I am interested in a standalone Chubb policy in the state of VA. Can you help?

I have a stand alone policy with Chubb. I know they cover DC and VA...Most likely MD also. They didn''t try to sell me anything else.

Yellowsparkles,

Thanks for the recommend! I live in Maryland, called them, and they set up a policy in 10 minutes. Martin Fuller is doing my final appraisal next week, but my policy goes into effect today. Also I should just say, the Maryland area sounds pretty cheap compared to other Chubb area quotes. My rate was $1.30 per $100, and that was before she said I would get a discount for having an ADT alarm system at home. The agent said they do not insure jewelry less than $15k, but my ring is only $13k. So we''re insuring that, and then I have $2000 worth of "jewelry blanket coverage" so that if I lose or damage any of my jewelry, they''ll pay up to that $2k if needed. I am really thrilled with that. My quote was like $194/$195 a year before my ADT discount, so we''ll see what that''ll be when I get my paperwork. I would really recommend Georgia Moschonas 202-466-8888.

We also used Georgia at Flather and Perkins for our Chubb standalone policy...she is so nice and no fuss at all to get a policy through her....They are located in DC, but can insure anyone, anywhere in the US....I pay a higher premium than Lindsey, but I am also in the NYC metro area...I would definitely contact her...good luck!!!

I live in Annapolis and called the local Agents listed on the Chubb website. I was told that Chubb stated they no longer offer stand alone insurance for jewelry. I''ll try the number above.

That is simply just not true...it is up to the individual company whether they offer Chubb stand-alone''s....Call Georgia at Flather and Perkins...
