My ring is stamped PLAT for platinum. Then it is stamped LCJ. Does anyone know what that stands for or what it means? I am wondering if it is a makers mark.
Also I have another ring that isn't stamped with anything but it was resized and made bigger. Would that get rid of a stamp mark?
Thank you

"LCJ" isn't listed in the Lang antiques university makers mark data base (http://aju.langantiques.com/), and it doesn't appear to be a U.S. registered trademark associated with a jewelry manufacturer (http://www.trademarkia.com/register-trademark/US/landing/?gclid=CO3-vYLi4M8CFQkKaQodBAYKHQ). It might be some sort of a maker's mark, but not one that's registered.

You might do a google search using the terms "LCJ ring" or LC Jewelry" and see what comes up. Then, send a photo of the stamp, or your best rendering, to each of those companies and see whether they might have used that stamp in jewelry they've manufactured.

Good luck!

BTW - as to the second ring, it's possible that it never had a maker's mark, or that there mark but it was ruined or removed during re-sizing or some other sort of repair. If it's an older ring, it's possible the original shank - and any markings on it - was removed and replaced at some point.

The second ring I don't think ever had a mark. I bought it new so I know where it was made ect I just wondered.
I Googled LCJ and nothing came up other than a jeweler over the other side of the country. I didn't know if it could stand for something else. Thank you so much for looking :).
