I love buying from American cutters/suppliers... waaaaaaay fast!

So just a few teaser shots as the sun decided to hide (or almost set as it does around Noon it seems)

It has such a wide range of color actually. Depending on the light it goes from a soft pale blue to a strong cyan (natural light) Indoors it varies from blue to a beautiful lavender to a true purple. Beyond happy with this stone. Thanks Dana if you're reading this! I'll do a proper photo shoot when the sun decides to not be a jerk.

I told you his stones are usually much better than his photos!

Your grandmother is going to love this! :appl:

I wish I were your grandmother, Davi! Lovely.

Glad you love it and I’m sure Grandma will too. Gotta love the luster of a spinel.

The colors are so pretty, your grandma will love it!!

It's beautiful! I'm sure it'll look amazing on the bracelet and your grandma will love it!

Congratulations! Looks stunning!

Oooh, a color changer too, very cool and will impress all g'ma's friends, so that is excellent! Great stone. :cheeky:

Very pretty!

Looks great! You're going be your grandmother's favourite grandchild.

Very pretty! :appl: Would love to see how your project progresses.

Aoife, thank you! I was a little worried, but like everyone says, you really have to have the stone in front of you to judge it.

JewelFreak,

Chrono, The luster is why I personally love spinels.

Forte, Crasru, Purple, TL, Thank you!

Largos, yeah I was surprised at the change. Dana described it as a shift, but this is an all around changer.

Loving, :D I already am hahaha. Just want to solidify my first place status

Vigor, thanks, This is a design the better half came up with when I asked for help. Grandma loves hummingbirds and dragonflies. The part of the body where the wings connect would be a white sapphire from Dana. The second one is a quick colored rendition. The orange would be copper, since I used it in my mom's necklace, or maybe even rose gold if budget allows. We're thinking some filigree work on the main part too under the dragonflies.

I want it to be able to be worn as a necklace too should she choose to do so. It'll look more like a medical alert bracelet than say a tennis bracelet.

I'm in contact with DanielM to see what we can come up with for a bracelet and for my Aunt's necklace :D

Here's a redesigned bracelet sketch. In picture the darker grey is a matte finish silver, the lighter grey is a high polish silver and the orange would be rose gold. The head and circle behind the wings of the dragonflies are 3.1mm round white sapphires (from Dana). The center stone is the spinel. I was wondering if the front legs of the dragonflies could be part of the setting for the spinel. The ends would have holes to attach a chain to go around the wrist. My grandmother is a sturdy woman with large wrists I believe she has other bracelets that are 8 inches.
