I have a 3 ct square radiant that I originally had planned to put with side traps. The more I started to look the more I think I may want pear side stones?
It gives a more feminine look but not sure how the “roundness” of the pears would look with the straight lines of the radiant. I think I may put a VERY dainty halo on the radiant to try help give it more of a softer look to try and blend the overall aesthetic. Has anyone seen this or think it would look ok? I like that it’s a different look but still want it to be classy and timeless.

Thoughts.. opinions.. pictures?

All is welcome!

I’m not sure how I feel about a square radiant with pears.

For my asscher I ended up going with a setting from sholdt that had bullet shapes on either side made up of small round melee diamonds - the effect is basically a super sparkly bullet vs a step cut against a brilliant, but you still keep the square edge of the stone.

I’m on my phone but when I get back to my computer I will see if I can post a photo of how it came out.

Love bullet side stones. Not a fan of pears with EC. But that is just my opinion.

I used to have a 3-stone with a RB center flanked by trillion sides... while the vendor did an amazing job of them appearing to seamlessly blend, I don’t think the straight edge goes well with a rounded edge. I think the traps will be a more stunning, cohesive, timeless, and well-planned look.

I wouldn’t like the juxtaposition of sharp radiant edges with rounded pears.
If you want a similar look I’d pay for brilliant cut shields.

I realize this is an old post, but I have this ring (2ct center) and thought I would share for anyone considering or curious because it is an unusual combination. I think the pears soften the look. E4D757A4-0575-43BD-A6DF-B90E7BBD1D46.jpeg
