Square h&a vs. "ACA" Princess vs. Princess

Hey,

I have been searching around and I have found the following diamond choices. I am looking for the shinest, sparkly, WOW factor type diamond. I do not wish to go any larger than 1.0-1.5 carat max.

Im wondering if anyone could give me a little advice on which diamonds to rank at the top of my list and which would fall short:

Thank you in advance for your assistance. If there is any other diamond worth taking a look at, please do not hestitate to steer me in the right direction. I am looking for either a square h&a or a princess cut. I am open to any suggestions.

I can''t realy help with analyzing the numbers so not even going to look... but I wanted to mention...

The sq.H&A has a very different look than a princess- the sq.H&A is going to come much closer to the type of sparkle of a RB... the princess more pinfire.

If you want sparkle, I would go with the sq.H&A, but really it''s a matter of what type of look you prefer- some prefer pinfire. An ACA Princess (though a very different faceting/sparkle than a RB) will give a WOW effect because it is far better than the average princess cut.

I had wanted a squarish stone with lots of sparkle, so I went with the Princess of Hearts (also a sq. H&A but with clipped corners rather than rounded... love it!)

They are quite diff looks that you''re going for - do you already know what your intended would like?
I would go with the square H&A if it were me, but I''m a lil biased as like Sera I''m fond of the princess of hearts (this could also be another choice for you...)

LOL, I''m in the same boat with my sq. hearts and arrows- I like the look of a RB, not pinfire.

You have posted very nice stones but they are all so different. It comes down to YOUR preference.

Square H&A: a cushion shape with rounded corners but sparkles like a round
Princess: Pointy corners with pinfire sparkle
ACA Princess: Pointy corners with pinfire sparkle (but assured for a well cut stone due to ACA branding).

Thank you all for responding. The two links you have provided were very nice diamonds as well.

I am still caught in a mix between a hearts of arrows square diamond, princess of hearts, or a princess cut diamond.

I do understand the difference between each type of diamond, I am just keeping my options open and looking into purchasing the most ideal diamond i can find that will provide the greatest sparkle, brightness, and fire of any other diamond.

I am also wondering if one could set a square hearts and arrows diamond (with round corners) in a princess cut setting? (or if anyone has any pictures they could share of how this looks, if it is at all possible in the "V" style prong?)

My guess is that it isn''t possible to set the square H&A stone with chevron prongs (unless you added an additional bead but then it totally changes the look) because the corner is rounded, not pointed. You can always opt to have double prongs to help accentuate the corners.

Thank you for your reply. I am still searching to see if it is possible or not. I have selected a ring/setting but I am still deciding on whether or not to purchase a square h&a diamond or a princess cut?

They are quite different in terms of cut and shape, but I know that once I find the right one i will know.
