Split Shank Halo....bezel or prong?? does anyone have some pictures??

Hi again... I have now began the search for my perfect setting....I really like the split shank halo look but I have not found many bezel set ones....what does everyone think goes better with the split shank for a 2 ct RB...prong or bezel?? I also found a square KNOX setting for a RB which obviously has to be prong. What do you guys think?? Does anyone have a split shank bezel or at least some pictures??

I have only found one picture of the bezel split shank and I have no idea who even makes it!!

Whether it''s prong or bezel is personal preference... I like both. I am going with a bezel halo because I want the shape of my PoH defined.

With prongs, I think the diamond blends with the halo. With a bezel, the center diamond is shown off more. Hopefully this pic that came from somewhere on PS helps...

Personally I don''t think a 2 carat round needs a halo, but I love larger stones in just a plain split shank. However, if you are set on a halo split shank I think the bezel look is sleeker and more defined whereas when the center stone is prong set it seems to get lost in the halo more.

Thanks so much for the pictures...you can really see the difference!! I really want the ring to be as flat/close to finger as possible...any side view shots of the differences???

Circle or square...would depend on your preference. What''s the look you want? Square look with the performance of a round diamond? Or round to emphasize the round? I''m partial to square shapes (cushion please!) but that''s just me.

These are pics of the WF halos. I have the halo prong. There is a couple of pics on the first page of this thread that show how low set it is in profile.

What size is your finger? If you have v small fingers a 2ct + halo + bezel may overwhelm your hand. Can''t wait to see the finished product!

Hmmm...I guess I never thought about that...I have fairly big hands but skinny long fingers...I think I am size 5.5......too small??

In the picture posted above with the two rings side-by-side, the estimate is that a round halo with 1 point diamonds adds about 3 mm to the total diameter of the ring. A 2 carat should be around 8 mm in diameter. That''s 11 mm. On my size 6.5 fingers, 13-14 mm would completely cover the top surface of my finger. I could just barely do a bit more if I wanted some "overhang." I''m not sure you''d see your split shank on a size 5.5 with a halo''d 2 carat. I''m also not sure if you''d have overhang, even.

Hmmm...another good point. I would have to ask Brian KNox about that for his settings. Although I think one of the pictures that was sent to me at the beginning of this thread was a 2.22 ct??

Yeah, a 2ct certainly doesn't need a halo.

Do you know approximately how big it would be with a 2ct and halo? You might want to try on similar rings to get an idea if you like the look/size.

If you're just wanting extra bling around the stone (besides the split shank bling), you could have a pave head. But, if you're set on a halo, I believe if it's done *well* it may not be OTT (just big! so, for some that would be OTT).

Wow...that ring does look pretty massive...I guess I want a HALO to protect the diamond as well as make it "flatter" on my finger...I guess I have to go try some on since I have such a small finger...I am going to call KNOX tonight and ask what they think about a 2 ct HALO...I will get back with the answer!

Thanks for all the advice...I took a look at the Leon Mege website and found this split shank ring for a RB...it is very lovely but I am not sure I like it as much as the HALO settings

I don''t really think there is anything obnoxious about a halo on a 2 ct stone, but it will definitely garner some attention. As long as you are comfortable with the size (try on something similar first?), I personally don''t think you can go wrong with a split shank and/or halo... but I may be slightly biased

keep in mind your tastes too, just because we don''t like a halo and a split shank togeter or that a 2ct stone doesn''t need a halo...get what you want girl!!! Get what speaks to you! I''m excited to see what you come up with.
