I had posted this diamond before and didn''t get too many responses. I was hoping to hear a little more as I am very new to this and a little pressed for time. I was looking to see if this looked like a good one based on the following measurements:

Carat weight: 1.10
Cut: Signature Princess
Color: H
Clarity: IF
Depth %: 66.3%
Table %: 68%
Symmetry: Very good
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Slightly thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.75x5.72x3.79 mm
Crown height: 13.3%
Length/width ratio: 1.01

Also if anyone can point me to a good appraiser, I would appreciate it. I live in the Dallas area. I have to send whatever diamond I choose to JB Star to have it set in the setting I want. I was hoping to get this all done before Christmas.

Please please please....

Thanks in advance,
The Procrastinator

it looks pretty nice to be --i am not sure i would pay for an internally flawless H color but the stone looks to have nice numbers

David Wolf _Just Appraisers in NYC is incredible

I agree. Looks nice from what I can tell by the numbers -- but why the IF clarity? You coud probably get about .3 to .5 more cts for the same money if you went to VS1, VS2 and you'd never even see the difference in clarity...

But you would see the difference is size.

Just a thought...

Cushioncut,

I am limited iin the size of the diamond anyway for the setting. I can only go up to 1.25. I figured for buying blind I might as well get the quality if it is still in my budget.

the #''s look good, do you have an idealscope image (or similar)
to press the point others have made, you are paying more for "if" grading!

here''s a dallas based appraiser from the ps list:

Belle,

Thanks. I do not have an idealscope or similar. I''m looking at it on bluenile. There was another diamond that would save me $1000 that is similar. Do you think it would be that different. Here are the measurements for it:

Carat weight: 1.12
Cut: Signature Princess
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 66.0%
Table %: 72%
Symmetry: Very good
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.87x5.71x3.77 mm
Crown height: 10%
Length/width ratio: 1.03
Comments: additional pinpoints not shown

It shows crystals, independent natural, pinpoints, and natural on the GIA cert. I just worry that the natural being in the corner might lead to chipping with all that I hear on Princess cuts chipping?

Thanks

Crown/pavilion angles and we''ll be able to give you a better assessment. Blue nile signature stones are no guarantee for superior brilliance. Their only criteria for meeting their "signature" criteria (if memory serves me right) is that the crown height is over 8% which is basically no guarantee of anything. Your most important relationships are the crown/pavilion angle relationships.
