I came SO CLOSE to buying one several years ago.. I would love it. They are just so darned cute!!!!!
Really SDL? Do they sell them as pets where you live? I had no idea, I thought they were just a wild creature..

Oh holy moly is he CUTE! He looks like a little doll!

My next door neighbor had one when I was younger...they are actually really fun to play with and they are super cute...very little maintinence. They eat veggies and fruits so the diet is not that bad...

Oh, he is so cute! I have always loved hedgehogs and wanted one as a pet ever since I was little. I had this book with the most adorable drawings about this little English hedgehog and how he''d creep under the hedge to go visit the children in this big old house.

Oh Loz, thankyou for linking me, I read the whole thread !
That is just the most adorable thing.
I wish we had them here, sounds like a great pet for somewhere with not enough room for a pup..Although, not sure about the "pooping" issue , lol !

Huh, who would''ve ever thunk it?

Hedgie!!!!

Cuteness. :) Almost got one last year, LOL.

Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhh it is just DARLING!!! Where did you find this? What a little honey!!

I own two of these critters and trust me, you probably DON'T want one!

My female 'Lego' is super-clean and litter-trained, and normally very sweet-natured but she does bite - and hedgehog bites are nasty (to the bone and leave bruises and teeth-marks for days) especially as they hang on.

My male 'Mr Sticklebrick' is a totally sweetie, but oh how I wish he would learn to use a litter box... instead he just poops on his wheel and keeps on running... and boy can these babies poop! And it smells terrible!

They need a BIG cage, each has to be housed separately, they tend to be awake between 11pm and 4am, so you will be kept awake by the wheel running if you don't have decent soundproofing.

I definitely wouldn't ever recommend them for kids - they never really become tame and they're not very cuddly! On the otherhand, I do adore mine although we won't have anymore.

Mr Sticklebrick loves my husband and likes to snuggle up inside his shirt - fine once he's actually snuggled, but a bit spiky with claws and prickles beforehand. The other thing he likes to do is stand on his neck with his front paws half way up the back of DH's head. Then he sucks his hair and tries to yank it out - all with horrible squelchy noises. Very funny to watch!

ETA: The one in the photo you posted is definitely a little boy

Hedgehogs shouldn''t been given much in the way of fruit and veg - they are primarily meat and insect eaters. They must never be given milk (which they love) as they are lactose intolerant.

I feed mine on IAMS light which they love and add in fresh cooked meat, vegetables, fruit as treats.

If you feed a hedgehog a strawberry you will need to give them a bath afterwards as they will annoint with it and you end up with a pink, strawberry scented hedgepig!

(Peppermints also drive them wild!)

How cute is he!! And I''ve never seen Mr. Sticklebrick--what a little darling! I love hedgehogs.

How adorable! What a cutie!

I''ve had a couple hedgehogs. They are really cute. We used to put the plug in the bathtub and let them go sliding. They''d try so hard to get up the incline of the back of the tub and then just kind of let go and tuck up and slide down the tub. They''re quite fun to watch.

OOOOOO how adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want one too...

hmmmm....my neighbor always gave them cut up apples and lettuce....interesting....but they are cute though...

Oh goodness! So cute!

It is so precious; it did brighten my day
